according to linguistic studies, non-English speakers need averagely 5 years to take the residence in an English speaking country to loss their 'foreign' accent, however, if their social life is strictly isolated in a circle where they don't get chance to speak their mother language at all, that period can be shortened to 3 and half years.
@546djv9 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if this "5 years" theory is entirely correct. While it is true that the degree of integration determines how fast one can learn the language of the host country, having a "foreign accent" is more biological. Studies have shown if people can "hear" their accent, psycho-cognitively speaking, they can consciously correct themselves. It is true to all non native speakers.

I thought it was really interesting when the girl said men need to man up, and gave examples of man pursuing women. As a Brit if a girl turned me down, I would think it totally inappropriate to pursue her further. I don't think it's about fear or needing to man up, I think it's about respecting the woman. I am not saying Kyrgyzstan men do not respect women, but it's really interesting to note the cultural differences, I'm assuming that for a man to do that in Kyrgyzstan would be seen as strong whereas if a man does not take no for answer here he is seen as being a pest, or even as harrassing the woman.

@sheesherwhiz38467 жыл бұрын
TORLBC well, they border China ( well the dude's Asian man, what do you expect, Kyrgyzstan is LITERALLY in Central Asia dude ). Being half-Kyrgyz myself, Kyrgyzstan ( Kyrgyz people used to be part of different colonies like The Tyurskiy Kaganat and becoming Enesei, Davañ and Yigur ) had a lot of connections with China, many wars too. But are no way connected to them, Kyrgyzstan is more Mongoloid, but at first theoretically had light hair and blue eyes, but later were invaded by the Mongolians and Kazahs breed with them, and became more Asian, but even today there are some Kyrgyz people that have light hair and green/blue/hazel eyes but still have Asian lookings faces.

Kyrgyzstan became a new and independent country officially, when it separated from the Soviet Union in 1991. While Kyrgyzstan itself has been around for a very long time, it's a new country in the sense that they've moved on from communism to a more democratic society.

Turgun Duishonali Do you not understand the history of the USSR? It joined the Soviet Union, no longer being Kyrgyzstan when it did. When it broke away in 1991 it became Kyrgyzstan again.
@turgunbex10 жыл бұрын
CarterMc3 If I know history of kyrgyzstan from vI-VII century,ofcourse I know about USSR. from wikipedia you can find this one.
