A Kirgiz respects every religion and culture. Our culture is build on love not hate thats why we dont disrespect each other. If there is someone who can think he can come here and disrespect someone infront of a kirgiz he will teach him respect.

Thanks for sharing -- I thought it was very useful. It can be hard to get an idea or snapshot of the culture of certain countries on KZbin -- many videos are intended for travellers/tourists. I really appreciated this.

I speak Turkish, would the Kygyz understand some words or expressions?
@zaharous
@zaharous 6 жыл бұрын
It often takes some adjustment for Kyrgyz in the south to understand Kyrgyz in the north or vice-versa. Turkish and Kyrgyz have many words in common and it is easy for Kyrgyz to learn Turkish or vice-versa.

Music is Russian?
@zaharous
@zaharous 7 жыл бұрын
It is very Russian, the song is called 'Proshaniye Slavyanki' but the song is also played often during military parades in Kyrgyzstan today. One of the ideas of the film is that while Kyrgyzstan has its own unique experience it also shares much with other former Socialist Soviet Republics.

You lost me with your mis-characterization of socialism.
@zaharous
@zaharous 4 жыл бұрын
I have no care or concern about whether any socialist or free market system is better. It may be hard for some in the western world to comprehend but a large segment of Kyrgyzstani society has a great deal of nostalgia for Soviet times. Following independence Kyrgyzstan experienced massive economic and industrial collapse and today while the economy is much better than it was in the 1990s, the world 'Soviet' is ironically used as in advertising as a byword for quality. It was not my intention to promote any sort of ideology during the creation of this film but rather to underline the fact that Kyrgyzstan is very much an aggregate of its long and multifaceted cultural and social history.
