nice to see it in action, I just go mine (black-identical) back from storage aftr 8 years, such a joy to have it back....a wonderful and vastly under rated bass in its day. thanks... nice post.

Impossible. The Westone Thunder was only made from 1981 to 1987.

I was using my normal guitar amplifier which is an all vlave Wharfedale TC35 combo with a 12". As it was at low volume settings, I was able to get a clean tone on it. I played it through a Trace Elliott a while before and it sounded incredible. I don't see why you couldn't take the frets off but must be done very carefully as you could damage the fretboard.

Great sound! Which amplifier did you use here for the demo? I have actually the same model but with a fretted fingerboard. Wonder if I should take the frets off...

You seem to know your stuff. How different is a fretless bass from a fretted bass? Aside from the lack of frets obviously lol
