This song will forever be a classic. Fun fact: there are actually two Official music videos, one's on nigahiga, the other on KevJumba (the other guy in the video) since they were one of the most popular people on KZbin at the time.

3 if you count the live performance that Chester and Andy Lange did together by themselves during a BBQ party that both Ryan and Kev were invited to.
@Mangolite8 ай бұрын
Yes, they were three, then two because Kev Jumba had an accident that sent him in a new direction, and finally one because Ryan Higa is on hiatus; therefore, only Chester See is back with an original called “Let Me Go.”

I feel like the "you're a trashy person" speech sounded out of context. It needed something like "If you respect yourself, you wouldn't date someone who doesn't respect you."

To be fair, I think KevJumba and Chester See released their own music videos for this, if I remember.

@@YTCBlackStar No, Chester performed and uploaded an official live version of the song and did the full song all by himself, including all the rapping with his producer friend Andy Lange while yes Kev and Ryan posted their own versions of the MV for Nice Guys.

I don't think "just be yourself" is terrible advice, it's just incomplete. "If you're a decent person, then just be yourself, otherwise improve yourself". It doesn't teach you all the lessons to dating, but it's a good start. As for the "improve yourself" part, here's my tidbit of advice: - Face the truth fairly (i.e. admit you're good/bad in some ways and don't lie to yourself or you'll never truly improve). - "Communication is key" (imo, that's being honest, transparent, clear, and direct when it counts). - Be ready to make/ask about/learn from mistakes. - Know that life/love is complicated and has no guarantees (e.g. if they leave despite you being a good partner for years, be accepting of the fact; don't get too caught up on the why if it's not clear or seems unfair, just recover and move on with life). - Be fair to yourself (e.g. you're a person with positives and negatives, so don't set your standards too high nor be tricked into feeling you deserve someone low, especially dangerous ones). - The right person at the wrong time is still the wrong person. Most issues that can't be fixed outside of a relationship won't be fixed inside one either, so don't expect it to be fixed *by* a relationship. - This one's considerably more opinionated. Friendship over relationship. If you can't be friends, chances are good that you can't be more. If you find yourself never talking with a person after breaking up despite being great platonic friends at some point, consider if that's due to having had a relationship with them or if it was simply a natural drift that would've occurred either way. If you can't be friends with an ex that you currently have good platonic chemistry with because you joined a relationship, then there may have been a bad change along the way cuz you've essentially gained a partner at the cost of a good friend. Note this doesn't mean you have to be on good terms with all your exes (don't force friendship where it doesn't belong), but if they were a friend whom you value before/during the last relationship, then a new relationship at the cost of them means you, your friend, and/or your partner have a problem that needs to be dealt with.

There wasn't a nice guy movement. It was a play on how at that time it seemed like women only liked to get with bad boys. Does "Nice guys finish last" sound familiar? The reason why Ryan higa was so popular was partially because of how he was able to create videos like this out of nothing, pocket, thin air and context. It's a sense of being a big deal but at the same time have fun with yourself. Don't it take it too seriously but also do. It's a hard balance to do but he did it. This was already after peak nigahiga but he had such a huge following after that it almost didn't matter

This also probably was also slightly inspired by, or at the very least reflected, the "how to pick-up girls" or "7 easy steps to pick up girls" or "buy this book to get girls" ads that were everywhere on the internet at this time.
