i am a Malaysian..i admire mr Li Lu so much.. i copy his 13 F portfolio, not only have good return, but also very comfortable of his buy and hold style..i mean no need to sell off overvalue stock for other undervalue frequently if i copy other great masters 13 F... i also copy his BYD idea.. he is genius and HUMBLE😊

This man is just above average smart, some of the stuff we average people cannot duplicate. His learning abilities, for example, of language, of critical thinking, plus his temperaments, are not something everyone can match. While I admire his talents, I remind myself that I cannot blindly do what he does, such as investing in a company not by dipping toes first, but by investing large (10% of portfolio) at the time.

Thank you, Clay, you have done a fantastic job researching Li Lu. I have seen and read each of the documents and videos available about him and Mohnish, I know everything quite well from a distance and your summary is a great compilation of everything that is publicly available. Just one detail, about the non-disclosed positions of Himalaya Capital, I am quite convinced that a relatively large portion of the fund must be positioned in Tencent and I believe it must be via Prosus. There are several indicators for this, among others the excitement of Mohnish some time ago when talking in several of his podcasts about this company and how he switched from Alibaba to Prosus, just like Charlie’s massive sale of his position in Alibaba to capitalize on the losses offsetting with gains most likely to at the same time change to this other position in the falls of the Chinese stock market.

Just a correction, in the episode you said Buffett would only give his money to 3 people: Seth Klarman, Li Lu and Greg Alexander. But Buffett has never said he would give his money to Greg Alexander, matter of fact he said he would give his money to Bill Ruane.
