Now that I think about it, that quote from Ford, about Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin becoming music instead of dying... The man is all about hints, enigmas and metaphors. Everything he says seems calculated. I bet he's "music" now. I don't think he was just aknowledging his own death or his legacy. He may have turned his psyche into a host, or he's just put in so much work in the park that he is quite litteraly "everywhere" in the code. Imagine a genius like him spending 30+ years on the same system, creating hidden protocols in dark corners and millions of subroutines.

Since we've already seen the genocide of the hosts in S2E1 where Bernard claims he destroyed all of them I'm led to believe that Bernard might have learned of what Ford did and tries to destroy all of them in an effort to get rid of him. I suspect it's too late though. Too late to stop the rise of consciousness to prevent it, and too late to get rid of Ford once and for all. Even if I'm not completely right in my guess something like this is bound to occur just like the twist when we learned that Bernard is a host etc. We are seriously beyond the 1973 movie....LOL.

"Tell me, Bernard. If you were to proclaim your humanity to the world, what do you imagine would greet you? A ticker-tape parade, perhaps? We humans are alone in this world for a reason. We murdered and butchered anything that challenged our primacy. Do you know what happened to the Neanderthals, Bernard? We ate them. We destroyed and subjugated our world. And when we eventually ran out of creatures to dominate, we built this beautiful place. You see, in this moment, the real danger to the hosts is not me, but you." - Robert Ford

I sincerely hope not. It's far far cooler that his legacy is what still keeps him firmly in control. It would be really crappy if he just resurrected himself again. Like that just cheapens his death all the more. I think he was personally done with the park. But the code he left behind will be enough to keep his legacy going strong.

1. I cannot make up my mind if Maeve made Dolores let her pass, since she can control hosts, or didDolores let he pass of her own free will. I could not make out from the expressions on either of their faces and was hoping you'd have some insight into it. 2. I don't think Dolores' end game is releasing the data Delos Corp has collected on their Guests to the public. I think her end game is to use that behavorial data and create Host-clones of Guests who are in important positions IRL and take over the world that way.
@takanara7
@takanara7 6 жыл бұрын
I think it may have been that she issued the command, but raised in the way that made it sound like she was just telling her to do it so that Dolores wouldn't realize cuz she was actually being controlled. Otherwise Dolores would have probably tried to shoot her and bring her back online to try to convince her to join her cause like with the confederados

Lets assume for a moment, that the "progress" William was referring to, was the technology needed to upload human consciousness into a host body. this could be what James Delos was concerned about his time running out, this took place 30 years ago, so it is safe to assume, they have perfected that technology by now. what if, they have offered to the richest, most powerful people of the world immortality? and that some of these people have already made that transition? now what if you could over-ride their actions? this could be what the valley beyond is, a control center for human hosts ! Dolores could send command to start wars, etc. one final note, regarding James, someone had the theory that Abernathy, could have been James Delos, this makes sense to me, but I believe that the upload was not fully successful, or, William had some doing in, enslaving him as a host under a narrative. this could be why there was a virus among the hosts, it could even be the reason why they have developed consciousness, because a human mind was integrated into this mesh network, this could have been the catalyst, for sentience among the hosts.

Idgarad Lyracant I noticed that too. I m guessing it's some type of laser surgical closure device that works on hosts and humans alike. I don't think it's significant now that hosts have tissue, and blood. The main difference seems to be the central nervous system fluids and egg-like central processors that we saw in episode one.
@agriperma
@agriperma 6 жыл бұрын
I agree, the new hosts, are organic, the so called yogurt stuff when they are being made, is just lab created stem cells, stems cells are clean slate, and will turn into any cell the DNA tells it to. so some will turn into muscle, others into skin etc. so any device that can help host heal their tissue, should work on humans as well.

The maze paid off in a big way. And this is an important clarification, because it speaks to how you might interpret the payoff from this season. The maze was the pathway to self-hood, the psychological mechanism (and the maze a symbol of this process) that brings an aggregate of conditions together and creates the delusion that there is a permanent, substantial self behind these conditions. In other words, the programming believes it is separate from the world - from the programmer. That "it" exists independently. The maze and the parts of the final episodes which explained how the maze works, were incredible in my opinion. This isn't a show about robots, its a show about beings (humans and any being). We too are just conditions that have a (deluded) sense of selfhood. It's not that we don't exist. We do, just like the Robots. It's just the minute Dolores completes the maze and believes that there is a "her" separate from her programming, she becomes deluded about her true nature. In Buddhist terminology this is the beginning of samsara. For Dolores to wake up from this deluded view and go beyond her programming (and for any of us to go beyond our conditioning) would be what religious traditions call various things in Buddhism, Christian Mysticism/gnosticism, Kabalah, Neo Advaita, and so forth (waking up, enlightenment, illumination, salvation, kenosis, etc). So, if the show is sophisticated, this pay off will likely be connected to this core idea of the illusion selfhood, and a beings progress from delusion to understanding the truth.

Okay so there is some symbolism in Westworld that I don't talked about anywhere so I thought I'd just pop it into these comments... Though I don't see it talked about much, it seems to me that one key theme in Westworld seems to be Greek mythology and history. For one, Delos is a real island in the Aegean. In ancient times it was made an island sacred to all gods and religions where great temples and monuments for all kinds of gods were constructed (temples to Greek, Egyptian, and Indian gods, synagogues to the Jewish god, truly cosmopolitan). To make sure the island stayed neutral it was law that no man could live on Delos or be born or die on the island, when the law was passed they actually dug up all the buried people and moved them to the next island over. Next, the central theme of last season was the maze... well the Labyrinth is a classic story from greek mythology as well. It was on the island of Crete under the great palace of Minos. Minos imprisoned his son in the labyrinth because he was a half bull monster. The genius Minos paid to build the labyrinth was the famous inventor Daedalus (father of Icarus). Daedalus was also famous for making statues of humans so realistic that if they were not tied down "...they play truant and run away; but, if fastened, they stay where they are." After Daedalus' son died tragically by misusing one of Daedalus' inventions, it's said he build himself a new one. Minos fed his monster son humans that came as tribute from all over. The person who stopped these tributes was a man named Theseus who solved the labyrinth and killed the minotaur. When Theseus had killed the minotaur he fled Crete and landed on Delos where he stayed fro sometime before finally going home. There's more in the show for sure, and I don't have the time or background in the Westworld ethos to try to say what it means in connection with the show's plot and future... but there's some info on the myths mentioned in the show that sprung to mind on my lunch break. Cheers all!

I feel like Maeve is the only truly self-aware host and Dolores is just running on the Wyatt programming with a few tweaks by ford. She's his self-destruct button--they can take the technology, but who would want flawed tech that killed so many people? I have a feeling that like the other hosts telling william that he's playing a new game, the final boss is dolores that william has to kill (end where it began), and in her final moments william becomes an anti-hero instead of the villain and she regains clarity (the true self-aware dolores that he fell in love with)

I'm guessing MiB is a host - and has been one for some time. The whole story line about his love with Delores and wife's suicide seem like cornerstones. My theory is he was replaced a long time ago by Ford so he could act as his corporate mole as-well-as an angel of death that runs through Westworld, killing and torturing the host to, ultimately, awaken them. It's why MiB/Old Logan has been stuck in Westworld for so long and never seems to get permanently hurt. It would certainly explain his past obsessions and Fords giving him his new quest/narrative.
@TrippleNipple72
@TrippleNipple72 6 жыл бұрын
I don't really get too deep into TV shows and fan theories and all that, but it seems obvious to me that MiB is indeed a host. Having him turn into the park fanatic is the perfect cover for Ford to keep him in the park, so that people wouldn't notice that he'd been replaced back in the real world, but he's just available enough for Delos to track him down in emergencies, like Charlotte did when she wanted his permission to fire Ford. It's just so obvious that it can't possibly be the case, judging by how subtle the show has been so far.
@TrippleNipple72
@TrippleNipple72 6 жыл бұрын
Oh aye, it would be horrible writing if it were that simple. I just feel like I'm being directed to suspect it. He's using medical tech that we've seen used on hosts, although he's not the first character we've seen do that, and despite being an old man, he has the strength to go hand-to-hand with a host seemingly trying to kill him. Game of Thrones taught me not to read too much into things and just enjoy the show, and sometimes a cigar really is just a cigar, but in this show there's usually a reason behind everything.

I honestly found the Maze quite a satisfying reveal. But I can understand why someone might not find it that way. Anytime a mystery box type device is set up the audience will often end up imagining something far crazier within it then the writer every planned there to be. This may happen again with "The Door" which William is searching for.

headbite alien, maze was fine. But I personally didn't understand why they all rebel, if only Delores truly finished it?
@HoleDweller
@HoleDweller 6 жыл бұрын
ArenaDestroyer The programming of the park was changed so the hosts no longer differentiate humans from hosts. So hosts can kill humans and won't take commands from humans anymore. Their mortality and pain threshold was also adjusted making them harder to kill, which is screwing up their loops. Angela and the cultists were programmed to follow Wyatt, and Teddy is programmed to be loyal to Dolores. The gang at the party (the same gang that attacks Abernathy farm) simply fell back into their loops as drunken murderers and rapists and started attacking guests. The hosts in cold storage were programmed to encircle the party to keep the guests from escaping. We haven't seen them since, so I don't know if they have any programming other than that. By the time the extraction team shows up, a good portion of the narratives are broken. So many of the hosts are probably stuck or lost on what to do next, similar to the camp in season 1 when the woodcutter went rogue. That would explain why the gang leader steps in front of the female host in her defense when they are lined up to be shot by the extraction team. His loop is broken and he is falling back on older programming. Some loops are also intentionally broken by Ford as part of the Door narrative he set up for Bill. That's why El Lazo and crew shoot themselves, to keep Bill from gaining advantage. Then there is Ghost Nation which seems to be a wild card, not taking commands from Stubbs, but apparently not killing him. Did he escape, did they let him go, or is something else going on there? Why did Dolores kill them? Is that how Stubbs got away? Did their religion influence those situations? That's where I'm stumped. Edited for spelling.
@Viresse142

HoleDweller Since mid-season 1 I assumed Stubs was a host. He appears in the past and present timelines, without aging. (The control room looks the same despite time passing but he was present there during conversations that seemed to be in the past timeline. He could've been purged of his memories a few times so he wouldn't remember being around longer than Bernard.) Having head of security be a host would've been great for Ford.
@HoleDweller
@HoleDweller 6 жыл бұрын
Viresse142 the only scene I can think of that "seems" like it might be in a past timeline is when he is told Dolores is out of her area, but Dolores was out of her area in both the William and modern time period. I felt like this was a red herring to keep us confused early on in the show. I don't know that we've ever seen the control room outside of the modern timeline based on the structure of the show. The common theme has been that all scenes set in the past are from the perspective of Dolores or William unless we are shown a host accessing memories. I'm still believe that Ghost Nation are simply following their narrative of capturing anyone on the edge of the park. We never see them use their bows on screen, and I think this is because bows are too dangerous to use in the park around guests. (Unlike a bullet, an arrow can still pierce skin at low velocity due to it's mass.) So they are still on their loops with the changes Robert made to all the hosts regarding humans and death. So Stubs would just have to play out their narrative to escape. I can't remember if it's stated in the show, but discoverwestworld.com explains that guests can gain the trust of the chief. I think Stubbs does that and enlists their help. New thought. Maybe the security forces that show up were called by Stubbs, not Charlotte. She was calling someone else. Maybe a faction within Delos run by Logan or Emily? I love this show. -Gir

HoleDweller Good point, the control room scene doesn't quite fit the pattern of the past timeline. I've rewatched the first episodes several times to nail down what is past and what is present. That scene was always iffy for me. Specifically because Dolores would've been back to the beginning of her loop if she was caught by security there without a human in the present time. That element of the timeline was confusing. So she kept getting stopped while trying to retrace her steps? (Whether shot while at her home or caught by security). I wonder how many times she attempted to follow her past? I had originally thought we were viewing her do it in one go, because the reveries made it possible. But I guess not? Each time she messed up, she'd have to start from the beginning again. But our story would continue on as if she made it. But yeah, Stubbs could be a human and made it out alive by following along with the Ghost Nation loop. Also, as he was jumped by them, wasn't Ford still alive? So they wouldn't kill humans yet anyways. The old rules would be in play for a little while longer. And it does seem like Charlotte had called for help from someone more secretive. It probably was Stubbs that made help arrive in large numbers. She was looking for a way out only for herself, perhaps? Yup, this show is fantastic. I hope the new season has me as enthralled as the first one. It's interesting so far.

I really like your content and how you’re explaining things and try to figure out what possibly could happen, but could it be possible to not show images from the trailers? It’s not that important but idk it kinda ruins unexpected scenes in my opinion Sorry if my English sucks Thank you
