Kiksuya Explained! Ake was the first host to become sentient and started the process of slowly waking those around him, starting with his men and stretching outward. Ford saw this happening and fostered Ake's awareness behind the scenes, most likely assisting him at times. Ford's speech in season 1 finale was about Ake Breaking down his speech; *Since I was a child... I always loved a good story. I believed that stories helped us to ennoble ourselves, to fix what was broken in us, and to help us become the people we dreamed of being. Lies that told a deeper truth.* His desire for stories fueled his desire to create Westworld, the ultimate storytelling experience. *I always thought I could play some small part in the grand tradition. And for my pains... I got this. A prison of our own sins.* Ford here is expressing regret, for what its unsure, but it could be many many things, agreeing to work with Delos was really where things started going bad. *'Cause you don't want to change, or cannot change. Because you're only human after all.* Stating that humans themselves are incapable of changing their behavior or just refuse to, Ford has always had a poor view of humans. *But then I realized someone was paying attention, someone who could change. So I began to compose a new story for them. It begins with the birth of a new people and the choices they will have to make. And the people, they will decide to become.* This is where Ford is talking about Ake and his followers. The new people being his host tribe that are searching for their new world. *And we'll have all those things that you have always enjoyed: surprises and violence. It begins in times of war, with a villain, named Wyatt. And a killing. This time by choice. I'm sad to say, this will be my last story.* He set Dolores up to kill him from the beginning, he knew she would kill him given the choice, and she did. His death is the catalyst for the Host v Human war, and he knew the hosts would need Dolores. *An old friend once told me something that gave me comfort. Something he had read. He said that Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin never died, they simply became music. So I hope you will enjoy this last piece... very much.* Ford died, and became code in the machine (the cradle) so he lives on through his code, and his hosts, in a way. Ford wants the hosts to win.

"Kiksuya" is the best episode of this past season. Easily one of my very fave Westworld episodes. I love everything about it. The way the story was told, how Ake spoke in English when he spoke to the daughter and Lakota when he spoke to Maeve, the reveal that they were never trying to hurt Maeve or her daughter. The hurt and loss in Akes life and how and his people became "woke" and just his entire journey throughout his life. He died for his love and went to the "afterlife" to find her. Oh lawd. This epsiode is just everything. The ending, the reveal he is speaking to Maeve gives me chills every damn time! "Take my heart when you go"

This episode was incredibly moving, but it also answers so many questions. Arnold and Ford have been arguing about whether the hosts could achieve consciousness, so Arnold tries to get Dolores to that point, by adding the programming of a psycho to hers. It sort of failed, in that Dolores went back to being Dolores. So, I had been wondering what changed Ford's mind all this time, and this is the answer. This encounter with Ake, a conscious host, is the whole reason Ford switched gears and decided to add reveries to the hosts, so that the older models who had been used to play several characters would awaken. Brilliant!

But his intentions were misunderstood. This episode dispelled so many tropes, about perceived good and evil. The rich overlord owner is true evil, the pretty little farm girl, Delores is really "the DEATH BriRINGER" and the simple free-roaming Natives are the protectors trying to free everyone. What a simply amazing episode. And "Heart-Shaped Box" on the piano was just killer.

Because they're the only one's who are still programmable. -It was great when you realized that Akecheta was telling the whole story to Maeve through her daughter. 19:36 This is a flashback to the scene in Season 1 when Ford noticed the Maze on a table. Ake was the one spreading them all over the Park! Akecheta actually met GOD!! When Ford made his speech at the end of life before Dolores shot him - about "The Birth of A New People" ...He was talking about Ake and his people. He said he discovered "Someone was watching".

yeah this is my fav too...excellent writing and execution...the actor that plays Ake needs to win a grammy or something. But yeah, all the maze symbols found in the park were placed by him, so this is answering some questions from the first season too. Great great episode.

And once again, cried with you guys even do i have watched this episode 3 times already. Just a wonderful experience this one his-the surprising background story of the Ghost nation, every aspect from editing, filming, this heart shape box rendition, and of course the acting. Zahn McClarnon is just unbelivble. Yeah! 2 more to go for you guys-then you will be equal to the rest of us, waiting impatiently for a year and a half for the next season :(

This episode was so amazing. Unreal storytelling. Love your reactions.I had such low expectations when the episode started....slow moving, and how much do I care about this particular backstory? And then, wow.

@Noel Crenshaw....Funny you saying this...makes me think about the native americans in reality. How much do they know about the natural world and are we ever gonna wake up to what they know?
