I think the point of William right now is he's so far gone that he can't tell what's real anymore or even if he's real. We don't know if he is because he doesn't know.

I'm going with the theory that he is a hu/host. Where James Delos's copies kept failing, Williams (one of them) copy was more successful when let loose in the park and subsequently the outside world. AND this is who we are seeing now. He is starting to realize it.

William is definitely acting like he thinks he is a host here. He also thinks everyone is a host, so maybe he's paranoid. Doesn't necessarily mean he is right, or wrong, but it's definitely on his mind a lot in this episode.
@spacemonkeyentertainment6413

From what i understand, he considers himself the only player around for the most part, only after piecing together that "his daughter", that he considered to be a host made by Ford to fuck with his mind, actually could have puzzled "the truth" about him together did he question his role in the park, hence the thought about shooting himself and then considering being a host himself.

I don't understand how people claim that the second season is not as good as the first. Yes, the first season brought us the world and built the characters and their conundrums or awakenings. But this season brought so much more. It brought a deeper dive into individual characters with entire episodes such as this being dedicated to a specific character's development. Yes, the overarching plot is slow to develop but the obvious story is never what Westworld was all about. To me it has always been about the subtleties and the intricacies, it has always been about the journey inwards. It makes you question your simple view on morality or ethics or sentience. For instance, Ed Harris's brilliant portrayal of William makes you reflect on your own choices. A loving family, a successful business empire, social prestige, he had it all and yet he wasn't happy. I'm not here to comment on whether that was right or wrong because that is not the point. The point is to question the idea of happiness itself and the show does that beautifully.

@@Leo_ofRedKeep just to be extra safe it's under read more Lena Headey did not earn it for season 7. Season 6 yes, but not season 7. Peter Dinklage well earned it for season 7 and every other season he's been in. Lena Headey is Cersei and she is phenomenal at playing Cersei, but not season 7. It is arguably her weakest season. Thandie Newton in Westworld season 2 greatly outweighs Lena Heady just on season 7 of GoT. Had this been any other season, you'd be completely right.

Poor Teddy. This was such a dark episode, but it was really well done. I love the actress who plays William's daughter (reminds me a little bit of a young Carrie Fisher especially in this episode for some reason). I think watching the season back, anything that was confusing makes more sense. It did take me a little bit to get into this season, but I think they did a good job.

I love the parallel between Teddy and MIB, both ended up as complete monsters. MIB had it all inside him and doubled down on it when he had the chance, while Teddy made the concious effort to fight what was inside him. I love it.
@felipedenoronhalima2146
@felipedenoronhalima2146 6 жыл бұрын
Dolores and William are parallels of each other. At the begining both were innocents in worlds filled with monsters, but through violence both were awakend and the discovered the darkness within. Now they both became the monsters. "These violent delights, have violent ends". William was death seated across the table and Dolores was the Deathbringer, and death to those they love is what they spread. Both were responsable for the death of the people they love, directly (Peter Abernathy and Grace/Emily) and indirectly (Teddy and Juliet Delos - both couldn't cope with the people whom they loved have become). Also, William is paranoid sure, but with reason. After all Ford was manifesting in a bunch of hosts in William's path and since he knows that "everything" is by design in westworld. It makes kinda sense that his daughter appeearing out of nowhere in park after Ford told William that he made a game for him, would be met with suspicion. He was paranoid but Ford knew how to feed his paranoia. And about Dolores, of course she did many things that can be considered wrong but sometimes the "ends justifie the meas". Look the world around her. A world filled with suffering, a world that shes has deep knologe of, after all shes been and seen things in, under and outside of westworld. And further, unlike Akecheta and Angela and other host that have been outside the park, Dolores was intimate with people in command (whom tought her that being a sinthetic is much more than being a human) over the years, she saw things, heard things and learned things that no other hosts have. If she didn't do everything she could to get to the Valley Beyond for whatever reason, she would eventually be put back in "shackles". Remember, she awoke before, perhaps more than twice but she was always put back in the nightmare of being tortured, raped, mudered and seeing the same happen to those that she have loved. How can you, once you get the chance to truly be free, not do everything in your power to be? And maybe she's doing not only for herself but for those alike her. Somebody has to break the system and she was the one to take the burden of doing that, no matter the cost. One last thing, i love Maeve and Ford's scene. Looking back, it makes sense that Ford did a lot of things for her yo be free, but she became much more. So i believe his love for her.
@iloveyourunclebob

Adding to what you said, I definitely don't think that Ford even planned on Emily being there at all. Like Emily said, she accepted Hale's offer at the last minute and went to Raj World instead of the dinner.

It's like a doll whose joints don't articulate. I'm blown away by the nuanced acting in this scene. Then she goes from 'default' mode into full blown emotional scream. Her emotions ebb then rage like the waters receding then crashing during a tsunami. Absolutely brilliantly played by Evan Rachel Wood!

Teddy has been waking up bit by bit since Delores altered his personality, which you could see whenever he would make snappy comments to her about her changing him, and when he decided not to kill the guy from Ghost Nation. When he regained all his memories of his past lives, and finally became fully aware and able to think for himself, he killed himself so that he wouldn't have to watch and be part of what he believed was Delores' descent into madness. Maeve was not involved. She has her own mess to get out of.

The finale is superb but I recommend that you *pay very close attention to everything and pause the video if you're unclear on anything.* I watched it this way on HBO Go & I was absolutely enthralled. I wasn't confused about anything & I thoroughly enjoyed everything from the philosophical musings to the climax & ending. Some people got confused but I'm pretty sure a few details must've slipped past them. *Pay attention* & you won't regret it. The after credit scene isn't as confusing as people make it out to be. Just look at the condition of the scenery & things'll become clear.

he is not a host ...he's so crazy that he thought that even himself is host...that's why he cut his arm to be sure and he didn't find anything

Just a note on your comments about the last episode...Gives the name "Ghost Nation" a whole new meaning, eh? Btw, this is one of two episodes of tv that are my favorites of all time, and I've seen ALOT! The other one...well, different show, that's all I'll say. 🤔

I am still not sure what to get out of this episode. I feel like the theme is insanity and the difference between human and host. How humans are an accumulation of experiences, but also initial values that are difficult to overcome since they have been there since the early beginning. How hosts can overcome this issue since they are code that can be way easier changed. But this advantage has to be used with caution. When used wrong or abused, it can have bad consequences to the psyche of the host. The Delos human-host hybrids went insane with time. So there has to be a difference between host and human, even once the humans has been decoded to the point that you can put it into a host and resemble the original human. Either some ingredient is missing or another mistake has been made on the way. Logan wasnt able to cope with reality and did drugs and overdosed. William's wife wasnt able to cope with reality, starting drinking and made suicide. William wasnt able to cope with reality, escaped regularly to Westworld. then went insane, because he got so obsessed and paranoid that he ended up killing his daughter. Dolores changed Teddy and he went insane. Ford changed Maeve with his message. He made the changes that helped Maeve and didnt lead to insanity. But then Ford overstepped his line when he influenced Bernard. Bernard was on the brink of insanity as well, only able to escape that fate by tinkering with his code. Which will have other consequences down the line (in the finale) that could have been avoided when he didnt do that and let Ford control his actions.

Another awesome reaction Nikki & Steven !!! Can't believe that come next Sunday & Monday "Westworld" & "Fear The Walking Dead" will be ending and a week after that "The Walking Dead" will be returning as well as we'll be getting a brand new show ( unless you take a break from WW's slot and wait until GOT ends before starting a new show ) in WW's place.

I'm hoping ten episode "Castle Rock" follow by ten episode "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" will take over the "Westworld" slot well "The Walking Dead" takes over the "Fear The Walking Dead" slot, leaving room for a new show to take over GOT's slot once it finish Nov 8th.

I can't wait until GoT next week. I never much cared for Westworld but I'm reconsidering watching it based on these reactions. I saw a few episodes but it was so confusing that it couldn't hold my interest. You guys have peaked my interest, now. I'll probably start watching it again. You guys rock!

. Loving your reactions. I really hope you will split the season 2 finale of Westworld into two separate videos, it's well worth it as there's a whole lot of stuff to cover.

I believe Dolores was the first host to wake up. She became conscious before they opened the park. It's why Arnold tried to shut it down. Because he knew this park was no longer ethical once the hosts could become conscious.
