Too my mind it is one of the best and , one with the most ideas(and well placed). Compared to the entries with the best success, it is more subtle and beautiful. I don't think it is too much. It made me think, even more, that I don't stand any chance, in this contest compared too this score. Bravo.

The issue a lot of contestants are having with this is that they are doing too much. Let me movie shine a little more and your music less. The music is overpowering the entire scene and in some parts all you really need is silence. Some of the music does not go with the take. You have some odd notes that give a different feeling than what is being shown on the screen. If you've ever seen "The Dark Night" car chase scene, there is almost no music. Mostly the movie sound effects and a small cello piece that lives quietly in the background. You have a lot of potential and are a really talented scorer but my suggestion would be to bring the intensity way down and think more about what is being projected on the screen and the message being sent.

Didn't the original scene use "Ride Of The Valkyries" as part of Caleb's genre tripping theme? It wasn't very subtle. Pretty much the exact opposite of what you have mentioned here. I don't think it worked as well as they thought it would. Maybe that is why they are having the competition? To see if it could have been better.

This is a competition, not a real scoring situation. Yes there are movies without even scores nowadays using sound as a storytelling device, but you need to somehow show everything you can offer in a competition or group presentation.

You got the right TV action/sci-fi/cyber punk score interpretation, TiDy. Your score is balanced with both traditional and current sounds. All the other scores I’ve watched are too EPIC or synthy. Not many people really understood and caught the light touch of humor in the video either. For my taste, changing high freqeuncy with high pass filter in the middle was too much DJ stuff, but it worked in terms of a catchy trend. There is some sync issue with the HBO logo at the end, but you really nailed every cue. Especially, I really loved all the transitions when the cars started to chase protagonists after Caleb got the “genre” drug and final cues from calling the drone motocyle and to the final explosion. I bet you’ll be the winner or at least on the runner up list. I also scored until half way through, but I was too busy with other schedules and had no time to finish it. I can see you are also an internationally accliaimed electronic producer and DJ. What a talent! You made me feel like a humble man. I hope I can score action/sci-fi with my own unique style someday like you. Great job, TiDy! :) JC

This is one of the best I have seen. It really fits the movie and compliments the film without overpowering it or feeling absent. The only thing that might warrant a redo before the competition ends is the arpeggio at 1:30. It is definitely too loud and sounds like it could use an eq. Otherwise great job!
