Unfortunately I missed most of the live video. It was so interesting I am now going to watch the entire video. It is of interest to me because I am in the midst of crocheting an octopus cap.

Oh wow I didn't know this was coming up but I posted a few days ago a needle felted versus wet felted octopus! That was well timed. I'm keen to see how others make them since it's been guess work so far!

I was interrupted several times near the end of the show but did mange to catch up. Really love this project and may even try to do a mini version first. I'm checking the wools I have on hand to come up with a color scheme. Wondering if the Wild & Tame Hair and Mane packs would work and if so, should I use Medium or Fine? Thanks for a great Wooly Wednesday Marie, and a huge thanks to Helen for sharing her fabulous project!

Marie is correct about the ‘arms’ An octopus does not have legs *OR* tentacles. *Many people refer to octopus limbs as tentacles, but technically, octopuses don't have any tentacles at all! Instead, they have arms. When you're talking about cephalopods, tentacles tend to be much longer than arms and only have suckers at their "clubbed" ends, whereas arms are shorter, stronger, and suckered all the way down. Tentacles also typically come in pairs. Squid and cuttlefish have eight arms plus a pair of feeding tentacles.*

I finally started on the octopus. wow I had "thin Layer" challenges. LOL this poor creature has harms that look like a few had steroid shots. and all I can think of is can I make myself some dreadlocks!! and it's not my hair type. but long for the funky look. I'll email you a picture when I'm done so we can all have a good laugh. I also think I rolled the individual colors in the legs too long I had a heck of a time getting the two colors to integrate. I plan on making 5 at the moment. I should be far better by the 5th.
