IMO, you can say that MM is robotic and walks slowly in H2 because he’s sustained gunshots + a balcony fall. Basically slowing him down because he is made of human elements BUT also is supernatural.

After the way the first movie ended, they pretty much had to come down on one side or the other...he could be human, but a freakish psycho...or he could be a physical entity, but powered by something otherworldly...I think they probably made the right decision in deciding to associate him with the supernatural. And once they MADE that choice, the rigid body language and freakish movements that we see in Halloween 2 make sense. If we're to believe that he is, actually, a man who died...and then WASN'T dead...retaining some of the rigidity of a corpse would make a degree of sense(compared to the way he jumped up onto the roof of the car in the first film, moving with the fluidity of an athletic young man)... That scene, where he's outside the house, and turns to look in the window at the young girl on the phone...and, rather than turning, does this bizarre, inhuman pivot...I regard that as the defining moment for Warlock's version of Myers. I don't know that I have a clear cut favorite Myers. But this one is brilliant.

I will say that those little unimportant moments make for more realistic situations but true some could be cut to a minimum and not be so drawn out.

Halloween 2018 is a terrible movie! It felt like a repeat to Rob Zombie's first 2007 Halloween movie (except without the Brother & Sister concept) Halloween ll 1981 is a million times way better sequel to the original 1978 classic Halloween movie than that crappy piece of shit Halloween 2018 movie I saw in theaters.

H2 was the first horror movie I saw. May be why it is my favorite Halloween film. It is the only slasher that gave me the creeps. Personally I love the synth theme. Dick Warlock is fantastic in the way he moves. Debrah Hill said he never got the walk right but I beg to differ. For the longest time after seeing this I legit got creeped out every time I heard Mr. Sandman lmao! Didn't help my grandma always had the oldies station on in the car and it would come on regularly.

Donald Pleasence apparently told John Carpenter there were two ways he could play that looking over the balcony scene, the first was surprise that Michael was gone and the second, that he wasn't surprised and fully expected Michael to not be there. John Carpenter opted for the latter so Halloween 2's take veers sharply from JC's original vision.

Slasher movies work off of isolation and intimacy. If you're not going to adhere to that, the results will be anemic. No matter how you have to achieve it, this effect must be present. Same with light. Slasher movies should be on the darkish side. Doesn't matter whether or not it makes sense....if you're not going to make the film dark, you'd do well to simply make another kind of film. Same with people...if you're going to make it look like Grand Central Station, that's NOT a slasher movie.

I mean there's always the possibility that Loomis could've thought Michael was trying to trick him, but he couldn't have even thought that as there was literally no time to think about it like that as it was all happening so fast. But yeah Loomis, Michael just stopped at the Elrods to bleach his mask hair and pick up some candy to throw everyone off. Totally happened.

It's interesting, I always see the Mrs Elrod scene as a off screen kill. To me he did kill her, he takes the knife, steps out of sight, and when she notices, the blood, she looks up and sees Michael, and when he pops back in, and that's why she screams, and he kills her off screen, and that's why when the neighbor, came outside calling, there was no answer, think about it, you know she would have hear the calling and cane outside screaming to the neighbor, for help, and everything. But just me.

Also, the way he falls off the balcony is kinda goofy, since you can tell the stuntman was walking backwards on a platform. Love the movie though. I've heard people complain about how slow he walks in Halloween II, but I just factor it into him being shot 6 times and falling off the 2nd story. And shit, he was walking around all night and killing people. I know he's not "human", but he still kinda is, so it's alright. As a kid though, that elevator scene of his hand reaching in and the glass bust near the end scared the shit out me.

Dick Warlock was awesome as the Shape. The ending was so awesome how Loomis sacrifices himself to take out Michael. H4 was cool but insults our intelligence when this was supposed to be the end of Michael obviously.

Can anyone answer why in H2 they reshot Myers/The Shape falling off the balcony? They used H1 footage of Loomis shooting him in the bedroom but then completely changed where Myers/The Shape is in the house and where he falls. The original he falls out of a bedroom in the rear of the house from a covered balcony, then in H2 makes him fall from the front of the house. It begs the question, why not just use all the original footage from the scene?!?
