She's amazing. The whole band is, but her voice is truly beautiful in an otherworldly way. This may be an odd reference, but this music reminds me a little of the Paul Williams penned songs Jessica Harper sings in the movie ''The Phantom of the Paradise''. holifeet well, everybody tend to compare female singers who are just a little bit out there and sing with their upper register to Kate, just like they have compared the more electronic ones to Björk the last 10 years. It always feel like a bit of a stretch and is tiring, as if it don't exist more good female artists to compare with ;)

Yep, Used To Be was the first song I heard. I love that song. I was listening to Mary Hopkin the other day and couldn't help but note a similarity in voices. I guess influence comes in many forms, direct or not. I read an article where Natalie said she grew up listening to a lot of Enya and Joni Mitchell, but I guess it doesn't really matter what the influences are because Natalie makes such powerful music.
