I know absolutely nothing about most subjects on this channel and still I'm always absolutely riveted to them. I never saw Alien and I loved this video. I saw 2 or 3 Warhammer videos before I even knew what Warhammer was but the detail that this channel goes into about fictional factions makes the subjects come alive. The presentation here is as good as it gets..

The SCP Foundation is written by many different authors yes and has a fluid canon that depends on that authors interpretation. However all main SCP classifications and tales directly linked to a SCP file (i.e incident reports) are canon. It is also generally accepted that many of the most well known characters are canon.

The larger problem is that they stumbled into extraterrestrial archaeological evidence and sites with Prometheus and have failed to investigate them properly. Prometheus could easily have become its own franchise as Elizabeth and David discover the relationships between the Engineers, Xenomorph, and the Predators. Existing Canon seems to show that the Engineers may have become extinct while the Predators may have fallen victim to a civil war that left no survivors.
