We are in a small church now, nothing hidden, nowhere to hide. We had someone 'strange' turn up a year or so ago, but our pastor was on to it and warned me to keep a close watch of my children and not let them go anywhere with the stranger. The stranger disappeared after a couple of weeks, things weren't going to go his way. Praise God for a caring, watchful pastor. It was a vastly different story in the larger church we used to attend. Extremely sad. I remember a preacher in a sermon I listened to a long time ago ask the question to his congregation, "Is the Logos illogical?". Of course not. Most of the things we call on God to save us from or drive our lamentations or for which we hold Him or Her responsible is a result of the ignorance, greed, violence, laziness, and stupidity of man. He commands us to love, but we don't believe in it. If we do have to face judgement at the end of things most of us probably won't make it - unless God is truly forgiving beyond all imagination. And I suspect that includes most so called Christians.

Many Christians are under the impression that if there is a moral failure (sin) like this, if there is repentance and forgiveness, and there should be, that he can just go back to what he was doing in his leadership position in the church.
