When they start trying to actually do something about the violent neighborhoods, it's because its going to be businesses/new homes/colleges they are trying to bring. But they push out the poor and the lower class because costs will go up. Yet they couldn't do better to keep areas safer prior to that. They could have been put resources in decades ago to help those that are hard working/law abiding citizens feel better in their own homes but getting rid of the gangsters, pimps, drug dealers and etc.

@214dude23 жыл бұрын
Attacking violent crime does not mean they’re trying to gentrify the area. They’ve done this multiple times over the decades. I spent a lot of my childhood there. It’s gonna take A LOT more than lower crime to gentrify South Dallas. Crime was at its highest in the 80s and 90s in South Dallas. When crime went down in the 2000s, the area didn’t gentrify at all. South Dallas is still very much the hood. It’s also losing population. South Dallas is the worse area in Dallas from a visual standpoint as well. It’s not like Bishop Arts in Oak Cliff where you have very nice or decent homes close by...which makes gentrification easier/faster. South Dallas doesn’t have that going for it...so gentrification will be a lot harder. I’m not tryna be a rude, but you would have to basically teardown most of South Dallas to even start gentrification. Many neighborhoods are literally that rundown. That alone would take decades.
