This team was NOT as bad as its record indicated. If we had a kicker we'd be at least 4-4 if not 5-3. The only outcome that is absolutely off the table is to finish 12-5. Everything else is possible. Let's not forget that the only players who played an entire season as a Jet lon offense last year were Tippman, Conklin, Garrett, Breece, and Lazard. The whole O line is new, Mike Williams and Davante and Braelon. Even Rodgers. It was always going to take a few games to get their act together. The kicking game is inexcusable. I will be disappointed if this team only goes 6-2 the rest off the way. I want to win out.

I mean the Jets tried to lose last night over n over but the Texans just kept punting the ball back to them... eventually the dam broke. Every team has injuries including the Jets and nobody ever gives the Jets a pass over the years when they have major injuries so I can care less about Houstons injuries. Jets took care of business and that's that. Honestly even if Diggs and their other reciever were healthy I still think the Jets win that game handedly because Houston coul not block them. Their pass rush dominated the Texans line and the Jets offensive line won against the Texans Defense which btw is healthy and a really good defense. Give the Jets credit.

I dont know what it is to be a long suffering Jets fan, but I do know what is like to be a long suffering Lions fan. With that said I normally can abide any optimism in life, it is not worth taking away anyone's hope no matter how ridiculous it may seem to me. Crazy enough I don't think it is impossible to get to the playoffs. In fact 2 years ago the Lion's magical run started in this same week of the NFL schedule. The Lions were actually a games worse sitting at 1-6 going into week 9. They had just traded away arguably their 2nd best weapon TJ Hockensen at the deadline to a division rival. Everyone in Detroit was resigned to the fact we were experiencing another wasted season. In week 9 they beat Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers to get to 2-6. No one in Detroit believed for a millisecond it was going to be a turning around point in their season let alone for franchise & culture. There sure as hell wasn't anyone who thought getting win 2 allowed for the possibility to make the playoff Now to be clear I get the 2022 Lions even in week 1 were never in consideration to be contenders like the Jets were going into this season. That difference is significant in factoring why a playoff run could be possible. Yet I can tell you this my best advice to the fans is dont allow yourself to be crushed riding a week to week Rollercoaster. What most of the fans said in 2022 after 3 wins in a row ( now 4-6) we aren't going to talk playoff or think things have changed until they get to .500 ( a similar thing Detroit Tigers fans did this past season). In week 12 they fell to 4-7 in a loss to Buffalo. They would then make another 3 game run getting them to 7-7. At that point we were allowed to dream unfortunately a week 16 loss to the Panthers meant while the playoffs were still a possibility they would need a lot of help for it to happen. Ultimately they missed out on the playoffs but finished with a winning record while also keeping the Packers out of the playoffs & ending Rodgers tenure in GB. With all that said my point is if you are going to keep letting the Jets hurt you at very least make them earn it dont give it away. Pick a record they need to get to before you will entertain playoffs as a possibility.

The D line was better but you cannot overlook the yards given up on the ground. Not sure why the Texans gave up on the run game in the second half. They need to pick up a run stopper before deadline and then they have a chance at going 6-2.

There’s no reason to think the Jets will win anything close to enough games to make the playoffs. They are incredibly inconsistent , prone to penalties and mental mistakes. And the penalty on the two point pushed them back which allowed New England to hold us to 22 instead of 24. Our kicker missed an extra point and a field goal. We lost by 3. Watch the game. Real fans know the Steelers are not 22 points more talented than the jets. That game was fluky. And Adams even called out the team after the game for not having enough energy on the sidelines.
