The best time to travel to the Caribbean is in the summer between December to May. From June to November is hurricane season.

@@Aryrch I've sailed all over the Caribbean in a 53 foot sailboat. Believe me, I know. I really hate cruise ships, it's not my style. She booked one anyway. Hell, I live by Clearwater beach here in Florida. I've got a nice Grady White boat that I take out. I'd rather take my boat out here. It's got a cabin. She just wants the cruise ship experience again.

I moved to Florida in 1988 and the winter months a couple years ago was pretty cold but last winter was the coldest winter overall I have ever gone threw here. So cold that it was killing off the pythons in the everglades which was a good thing.

This storm is pointed at Central America which has much more vulnerable infrastructure, a greater at-risk population and very few response resources. It is NOT good luck for them. Already suffering flooding, landslides and highway collapses from recent heavy rains, these two storms could be catastrophic for us.
