The soonest that they can mobilize aid or donations, we will be able to offer more tangible assistance which will help the folks in Carriacou but help to not feel that sense of hopelessness.....believe you me 2017 with Barbuda was the same thing. If people are still seeking shelter in their homes tarps, generators and water are vitally important right now.

Hi everyone, here is a link for a fund set up by the government of Grenada for direct relief: pay.gov.gd

I wouldn’t donate to any of the crooked governments down there. Samaritan’s Purse is boots on the ground right now with supplies, medical help, etc. 90% plus of all money donated goes right into the work. Donate to Samaritan’s Purse. That way you’ll know your money has gone directly into the work to help these people.

@@Jenjin1313. In the meantime, donate to Samaritan’s Purse, which is ALREADY ON THE ISLAND with needed supplies. These governments are famous for usurping donated funds. SP is responsible and accountable.

Seeing how composed and hopeful these people are is inspiring and just nice to see. I see my area of the US get hit by hurricanes and tornados and lose way less, and people will be crying and losing their minds. These people on the island have truly lost EVERYTHING, and are still making the most of it. Very interesting seeing the different ways people handle natural disasters. I wish them nothing but the best. Your journalism will sincerely help these people put their island and lifes back together. I hope assitance reaches them ASAP.

You guys singlehandedly advanced communication between Carriacou and the rest of the world by probably a day. That is incredible work. Great journalism, thank you for what you're doing. Loved the cute section at the end with the kids holding the camera :)

Thank you for highlighting and shedding light on this. Mainstream media tends to ignore these small islands and these people are suffering ; but they have a resilient spirit. However, they need help .

They need to be moved off the island for good, if they are in poverty and in a constant danger but cannot afford to fortify their buildings they need to be put somewhere that their quality and capability of life can afford. No matter how you look at it, they cannot afford to live here.

Not sure how to help.....this is terrible. I drove the day after a tornado 🌪️ in Missouri one time on a highway that was in the tornadoes path and it was like driving through a war zone like this! With this much devastation, I'm surprised how almost everyone survived!! This is like a miracle to me. Are you setting up a GoFundMe to help these people? I hope the government can do something for them and it should. Blessings and prayers 🙏 to all who's affected 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

@debraemilligan there are a few organisations you can look up on social media. I am in London and found a drop off point for donated goods such as sanitary supplies, non perishable items, babies nappies, over the counter medicines etc.
