I LOVE that MTV does these “out the vault” clips pretty regularly. I’d really like to see stuff from when Carson was on TRL. I know the late 90s and early 00s MTV is hated among MTV purists but I remember coming home from school every day and turning on TRL to see if Korn or Limp Bizkit had finally snatched the #1 spot from The Backstreet Boys and N’Sync! Lot’s of great content on that show from the first couple of years.
@MrQuijaRICK3 жыл бұрын
mtv completely blocked out Insane clown posse in a shitty way, but damn Korn dominated MTV then until eminem took over
@viciousdope663 жыл бұрын
True. I remember celebrating with the drummer in my first band (middle school) when Korn kicked the Backstreet Boys out of the number 1 spot on TRL. It was the best (real music is much needed in these “modern” times).
@Collectingmythoughts3 жыл бұрын
I think the reason why people frown upon the late 90s early 2000s time period of mtv is because MTV started to put more focus on pop R& B and rap acts including the addition of more and more reality shows towards the end of the 2000s which You Could See by that point they were alienating Rock and metal music which the network was built upon and the reason why MTV became successful and its really sad too because when people look back at MTV and the things that made it what it was from the animated shows to the music that they used to play on the network they think of that are of MTV not the era that came afterwards.
@Imxel212 жыл бұрын
@@Collectingmythoughts there's nothing wrong wit r&b and rap including predominantly black genres of music isn’t wrong. Those people weren't 'purists' they're Racists. Call a spade a spade. The first video on mtv was a pop song. The 80s was all pop so not only are those people racist they're dumb af too. Both things go hand in hand.

He wasn't really into their music, but they got along personally. Courtney was actually at this party with Billy, and then broke up with him right after for Kurt. The two got married literally as soon as they started dating, despite what Courtney says. Mathematically Kurt and Billy both knew Frances couldn't be Kurt's, and Corgan was the guy right before... so after Frances was born Kurt and Billy kept in touch with each other.
