I remember as a kid growing up outside Toronto all the local television stations used to produce a year in review type show at the end of the year. I used to enjoy it, but they don’t do them anymore.

I grew up in South Bend, Ind., and had early cable in the 70s. It was not much more than a big antenna on a hill with coax running from it. Anyway, I grew up watching Chicago TV as a result. I *loved* listening to Jack Taylor speak even as a kid, because of his precise diction. It's great to hear his voice here.

The anchors sort of look like century 21 realtors with the harvest gold blazers

I would like to see more of these WGN year end specials. I know they had sports on those specials too. Especially Cubs highlights

I was 7 years old when all of that was happening. I didn't fully understand the Watergate scandal until i was in 7th Grade. I also realized back then that not only Chicago sports teams stank, but the entire state of Illinois was awash in corruption.

The segment with the POWs reuniting with their families is such a touching little montage - the type which the more shallow/heartless media of today rarely tries.

If you go far enough back into his channel's archives, that's where most of the videos had been coming from.
