That is when WGN news was starting to be an hour instead of a half hour. It was really a half hour of local news and half hour of this. Also, it made it start to be at 9 Pm in place of 10 PM. The Twilight Zone replaced the news at 10.

4:49--It seems weird that Chicago was still using old fashioned telephone exchanges as late as 1982 (NAtional 2-9000). In Minneapolis where I live they were phased out by 1966.

Lincoln Carpeting used that jingle forever. It sounded better than singing 622-9000.

Wow. I wish Sexpo was all we had to worry about in Chicago now instead of... everything else.

Two Chicago connections in this INN broadcast. Anchorman, Jeff Kamen once worked at the news department at WCFL Radio in the late 60s. And Diann Burns who filed that final report in that newscast went to Channel 7 and the got a huge contract to be on WBBM Channel 2 News...but that contact was a bust as their ratings were still low

From September of 1983 to August 1984, there were at least two Chicago connections over on WCBS Channel 2 in New York: - John Coleman, who was basically confined to weekend and fill-in work, and seemed rather subdued on-air compared to his WLS heyday and even after he returned to Chicago via WMAQ - Dick Marx' "Channel 2 News Theme," which WCBS first used in 1982 and continued through 1985.

4:53 James Harder is the voice of the American Express commercial. You can tell what a low-budget operation INN was. Their correspondent in Santa Barbara, California, had to file his report by telephone, and some of the visuals for their reports were black-and-white still photos.
