African ancestors have been doing this for years,as well as asian cultures. reintroducing nutrients that came from your body back into your body to replenish makes absolute sense.

Did she really just say “birthing person” as a Doula? 😳 I understand doulas are all about the birthing experience but we are women that carry babies and deliver them. We are not birthing persons.

BINGO 🎯 Everyone wants to be so politically correct at the expense to women.

This is inclusive terms because people who don't identify as women also have babies. Especially as a birth educator, labor and delivery nurse, and a momma myself, I do not mind being called a birthing person because that is what I am. A person who has given birth. I also will call my people I take care of in my classes and in labor what they want to be called and what they prefer. This isn't taking away from women or harming women and it helps include the people who feel outcasted. If you don't like it when someone calls you a birthing person just correct them. Its a personal preference

Okay, so don't get me wrong about what I'm about to ask. I have five children and didn't know this. I want to know if it's possible that my placenta was capsuled and I didn't ask for it , does this mean I can't get the placenta or pills from the hospitals I had my children at? Also thank you for the video you shared, it really means alot to learn more about my body. Have a great night.

That would be highly illegal. Hospitals are required to dispose as bodily waste if you do not consent to donate for research or release to yourself.

Keep and freeze your placenta. You might need the stem cells later.

Just the next step toward absolute crazy town. So glad I have common sense and don't follow the crowd. Don't eat human placenta. Just don't. Shame on WGN for hosting crazy cannibals

What's crazy about it though? It's not someone else's

@@ctvwrest Do you intentionally eat your own body in any other circumstance? Of course not. Why don't you take a bite of your arm cause someone once said it has healing properties? Because that would be crazy, and you should be able to realize that. This was never a universal thing to do, just some bizarre practice from some corner of the world that got some airtime some years ago. Thoroughly unnecessary, without additional benefit over a healthy diet. *You* go eat human placenta. I'll stick to not taking that trip to crazy town. 2 years and you leave a reply? This didn't just show up in your feed. LoL

You ever see other mammals give birth, say a cat, they do it.

@@Tony78454 Cats in the wild kill and eat the young of their prospective mate. Just because an animal does something doesn't mean it's what a human should do. Really silly argument. Do better.
