I just want to say thank you for doing these guides, found you with your WOTR builds, and stayed for how informative your videos are, tried getting into rogue trader during the early access alpha and looking at the character creation like it was Egyptian hieroglyphics, i had no idea where to start or end, thought pathfinder would prepare me for the complexity of it all, boy was i wrong lol. Again, thank you for the help, i am no longer dreading trying to make a character in this game that actually sucks, but i dont realize until halfway through the game.

Thank you for the support! This game is so incredibly complex. I’ve put in well over 200 hours now and I’m still learning. I have so many guides and videos coming that I hope you will find helpful and enjoy. While different than the pathfinder series, you can tell this is definitely an owl cat game. Incredibly ambitious, buggy at launch, but filled with potential.

Very important to note. If you end up playing Heretical. Eventually the imperium focused and “good” xenos characters will leave you. Biggest loss will be a godly sniper and multiple ranged gunners. I’m playing heretical and wish I had made a sniper. There are two companions that can make great warrior tanks/support. One offensive warrior (warrior assassin) but only if you lean heretical. Things to keep in mind.

Isn't fellowship important for certain checks in one on one conversations that the main character has? Or would the highest fellowship level in you party be used?

I'm confused by WS/BS and Per. If I have an Operative, I'll want high Perception, but is it a waste to put points in BS? I'm torn between so many stats for different characters. When I made my first character, I assumed that abilities would scale off the base stats in a pretty standard way that I'm used to. e.g. Str makes you hit harder in melee, Int makes you hit harder with spells, Willpower gives you more resistance to spells etc. I wasn't at all prepared for the large number of talents whose scaling is only visible from their individual tooltips. It's hard for me to keep straight in my head.

That's a shame to hear about the officer class, I figured it would be the natural pick for a rogue trader but it sounds fairly sub optimal from what you say.

officer is pretty strong, it scales all your other party members, but does nothing much on their own having multiple officers means they just need to be both close to your damage dealer since officers throw extra turns around like its nothing, the navigators master of time (or whatever its called) that raises their willpower every time anything gets an extra turn plus they can pick skills where stuff scales with willpower instead of other stats, you can have an insanely scary 200 willpower navigator within 4 or 5 turns so yeah officers are perfectly fine

So to clarify. Cassia and Jae are two amazing officers. I recommend them both for almost any setup. So a third officer would be overkill. That’s what I meant by not recommending officer for your rogue trader. Not that officers are weak. I’ll be making a video showing how to put them to good use. I complete 90%+ encounters in one round. Most enemies never get to act. Once you see it in action it will show you just how much synergy you can build with certain combos.

It's not this guy is stupid. The other officiers have unique talents that you should focus upon, meaning you lack a true vanilla officer.

So I’m in act 4 currently , playing with press release save file and since the recent patch have had minimal issues. A few glitches with ramming and space combat as well as one or two cases of heroic powers/abilities not going off randomly, but nothing game breaking like in the beta and before. I will say that it’s been tough to stick to my heretical playthrough commitment. Some heretical choices are quite dark and I think I’m getting close to having a third of my team abandon me (one of which I really like).

Biggest big I had was the game partly foze, but save still worked. So I saved, closed the game, loaded save and played fine from the exact spot I was at without issue.
