wow, that's awesome! Thanks so much! The flubs are my favorite part (once the project is done) so I wouldn't dream of leaving them out. :D I don't get a chance to post super frequently but I've got multiple videos in progress now so stay tuned for more flubs in the future!

I skipped through this video with it muted. I am so glad I went back and listened to the audio!!! Here I sit still laughing... about the board with glue that hit the floor... But any day in the shop is better than a day a work.

Very, very nice! The video and the box. You get things done! - despite your wobbly workbench ;) (I built mine myself, keeping to Paul Sellers's design, but not much of anything else actually using it - yet ... because I sold the two of them and was busy building another and another ... that bench *won't wobble* . At all.) Thank you for your in every way inspiring videos - of which I have only seen four so far ... two of which about the bathroom vanity. Which also came out very nice indeed! And thanks for the sharing of your ideas! Be well! And all the best!
@yotube1234543216 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind words! I definitely need to spend some time on my bench, haha. I've toyed with the idea of making a funky modern steel + wood bench but that's still in the design phase :D

Nice box and deliciously sad, yet hilarious moment when the tail broke. Been there done that! Looks like people who are into wood working don't tolerate that kind of language, while huge channels on here became big because of swearing. Weird. Thanks for uploading it!

at 1:40 when u were glueing and it was sliding u can use some table salt with the glue and it won't slide as much
@Jevandtieriel7 жыл бұрын
But just a few grains are needed... do not sprinkle it or it will dry out the glue.

You may like it young lady, but have you ANY idea what this poor guy went through to make it ? I was with him every inch of the way. The pain that man went through. !!! I was close to tears at one time. If you don't believe me, just listen to the very informative commentary.........and then ask him to make you another one !!!!!!!!! :) Great vid bro, have just got a band saw ...wow what a tool. Happy days.

i know you won't care but , at glue time if you sprinkle some table salt on top the glue , your boards won't slide around . cool box
@yotube1234543217 жыл бұрын
haha I DO care! Someone else mentioned that as well. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the idea! :)
@Josef_R6 жыл бұрын
You don't even need the salt. All you had to do was rub the pieces together a little and they would stick. And you were using way too much glue.

Nice box. Just a little tip to help with the slippage in the glue up.....if you use a sprinkle of table salt between layers it will not move around. Makes clamping much easier :)
@yotube1234543217 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I've heard of that! Have you tried it? I've always been worried it would weaken the joint some. I ought to test it out cuz boards are ALWAYS running around on me.
@Jevandtieriel7 жыл бұрын
I use the salt all the time... You just need a few grains at each end... as in 6 -10 spaced out. If you put a clump of salt it will suck the moisture from the glue and ruin it. By the time the glue is set the salt will disolve and you will not know it is there. Another trick is to hold the glue joint by hand until it grabs - and then clamp it.

Ah, I didn't realize so little could help. I'll give that a try on my next project. Thanks!

Thanks for the subscribe! Right back atcha! From the looks of it we also share interest in Delta bandsaws :p The lathe is a beast. Bought it for a couple hundred bucks on CL. Getting it in/out of my car and up the three flights of stairs to my shop was a project in and of itself but it's a great machine. I should really get a shield like yours before I regret not having one!

Nice little project.... I liked your video allot using hand tool and power tools and solving problems like that split in the whale tail and also the HD is so nice on the eyes. I was going to show this to our 7 year old granddaughters until your dropped the F bomb. Please don't take this the wrong way but maybe you should find solutions to a problem when something breaks or when you make a mistake not curse words. I call it going into fix it mode when I screw up! I just smile and say ok I can fix that. Anyway I don't mean to preach to anyone I come to see videos and to learn... not worry about what my kids might hear. Keep up the good work and give a heads up about bad language. Thanks for the show!
@yotube1234543217 жыл бұрын
thanks for your kind comment, tony! I definitely agree with you on the importance of having a positive, solutions-oriented attitude to problems. In general I do cultivate that mindset in the shop but for the time being, a few seconds of cursing seems to be part of the learning process for me :). Since I try to make the videos true to my actual shop experience, I keep these moments in the videos. I'm working on being more intentional with my cursing though. I appreciate you reaching out and hope to see you in future videos! :)

Loved the box the whale is cute. Loved the fact that he used tools that are within reach of a common guy and not the high dollar tools you see in most videos. Loved the look on her face when she got the box. I hate the use of the F bomb it adds nothing to the video in fact I almost turned it off after the first set. Just my opinion but it would be a better video with another adjective.
@yotube1234543215 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tim! It was special to give it to her. I keep the cursing in my videos because it's what the shop experience is really like and I don't want to censor any of the experiece. Thanks for your kind words! Cheers!
