Making a Bandsaw Box

This is how I made a band saw box out of what I believe to be chestnut.

I really like the worm holes and the open cut lines. That shows the flow of the design really well.

Lovely job. And nicely finished. You did well getting some nice timber as it is really hard to find without paying ridiculous prices. After watching great videos like yours, I have just started to make bandsaw boxes and there is a feeling of satisfaction when they turn out nice. The thing is that I am a retired truck driver and not a craftsman like you, so I have found a hobby that keeps me from getting under her majestys feet and out of the house. Thank you sir.

What kind of saw do you have;;I have a new craftsman but it won't cut hardwood

Thomas S Porter I have a delta 14" bandsaw. I use a timber wolf blade with 10 teeth per inch.

I wonder what blade you have then if you say it won't cut hardwood I'm thinking your blade may need renewing. I have an old craftsman with a 3tpi blade and it cuts anything including hardwood, just take it slow.
