Your description of push it in and pull it out made me smile because I knew what you ment but anyone not used to these fittings might be left in the dark. You have to press the retaining ring in and then withdraw the pipe, so push the retainer and pull the pipe. Cool product, thanks for sharing.

so VERY VERY USEFUL - couldnt find anyone else on youtube that showed how to remove / replace the water housing .. so this is invaluable . p.s. i took sink out and taps etc settled down with a cup of tea to look at how to get the shower hose connecter off so as to put a new one on and pulled the foam washer out with my back tooth only to find it was a solid resin one and half my tooth dropped off!! Its when you least expect it that injuries happen even after a successful venture like yours (severed thumb!!) on a housing flap ... of all the t hings .... the bloody flap. i feel your pain friend.

Thanks for the video. Noticed you replaced the unit with a Microswitch tap version instead of your standard pressure switch. Did you have any issues with comparability?

We have this whale socket on our van, just one thing if you haven’t done already, on the back of the socket there’s a button, you need to press that to calibrate your pump otherwise you may find the water pressure a little low, here is how to calibrate it 👍 www.whalepumps.com/rv/siteFiles/resources/docs/resource-library/ah_wmic_calibration_only_no_ad_may2013.pdf

Hi Graham, did the unit come with the IC switch, as I have an intermittent fault with ours, because if so might as well change the whole thing as you have. Great vlog.

Yes that yellow bit, which my original one didn’t have is the IC which (that’s what Whale told me 👍🏻) Graham

Great vlog. Our Bailey has the Truma inlet, is there much difference between the two systems? Thanks Stuart.
@CaravanVlogger5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. We’ve had both our Truma one had an internal pump and whale has an external submersible pump. I found the truma made more noise. But it was on an older caravan..Graham

The flap on my U4 Cadiz was flappy, dealer replaced the whole thing under warranty. The one you have fitted is much much better than the original. A flap like that would be so much better for the power in connection. Btw don’t tell Bailey you have done this yourself as you have just invalidated your water ingress warranty.
@CaravanVlogger5 жыл бұрын
If the unit I've replaced failed, then that's not covered by Bailey. However, it would be covered by the warranty on the part I fitted, from Whale. The one instance it could cause a problem is that if water ingress was proven to be caused by the part I replaced. But it's probably better sealed than the one I took off,so no worries there. Also, the fact I've videoed it, to show how I did it, it's even better.Thanks for watching. Graham

Graham. I notice you used the existing holes and didn’t use the top two holes of the new housing. Was it secure enough using the existing holes ?
@CaravanVlogger3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I see what you mean, I just rewatched it. Yes, it was fine, I didn't want to make additional holes in the caravan. The top bit is only the flap. I guess I could have put the mastic tape around the top bit. But, if anything I think it made it easier to slide up and down, possibly? Graham
@keithalangrundy80093 жыл бұрын
@@CaravanVlogger thank you. I just need to check if the warranty is affected. May contact dealer before putting on. The old units is ok but the flap is week and doesn’t hold the whale hose in place very well.
@CaravanVlogger3 жыл бұрын
Someone mentioned that before. I think the only issue would be if water ingress was found at that point. I guess safest thing is to get your dealer to replace it? I personally wasn’t too worried but I was unaware it might be an issue. Of course now I’d be worried to death 😂 Blooming experts! I’m now checking my wheel nuts for the right torque, cleaning my tow ball and spraying silicone on my locker seals. Damn them vloggers ! 😂

You need to calibrate that water inlet to set the water pressure to turn it off - should be on the instructions and on the Whale site.
