A very late question, but what bed adhesive spray did you use for the ASA print? :)

It's printing on epoxy. Carbon fiber doesn't touch the molten plastic so it's mostly useless here since it's fully enclosed, it's just an expensive sheet made of CF because of marketing.

They should use a thin epoxy layer similar to what Koenigsegg use on their exposed carbon car, It's called "Koenigsegg Naked Carbon”They manage to keep the carbon fiber texture that way

So its the same as fp4 or tufnel

Similar but not the same, I have used FP4 and G10 and had problems with the lamination on Prince stick too well. That doesn’t happen on the carbon fiber. Also, this is a special formula which helps to get better print results. it has also been produced an auto clave with high vacuum pressures to squeeze out epoxy for even better performance.

So... it doesn't give the carbon fiber look and it has trouble with ASA... then what's the point? It's $59 even for the 256x256...

You can just buy a 0.5mm carbon fiber sheet for 10 bucks and stick it to your metal build plate. I notice the carbon sheet can withstand nozzle stratches better and last longer than pei sheets( either cracks or peels off). The resin on the carbon fiber does wear down, which will show the fibers on the bottom of the print. I use carbon sheet because it just works better with nylon and it does last a lot longer than other metal plates. Have to scuff it down and use glue in some cases.

Kinda cool, but those marks it leaves and a bubble bath after each use makes it a hard no.

Can clean with IPA as well, it’s important that the user cleans between prints in order to remove any reserves left by the previous print, it should be happy for anybody using any surface

@@petersolomon3505 he said ipa was not as good as soapy water, the marks are annoying to me as well as the price 🤷♂️

Sooo... it does not work with ASA. Because with glue ASA would hold on anny surface. I use spray glue on bare metal sheet.

I imagine the carbon fiber breaking after a couple of bendings...

I preordered this the first day it was available… I’m going to try and cancel my order. I’m not about to introduce water and soap and rags and such a mess into my 3D printing space. I wash my plates every few months in the kitchen and it’s a pita but necessary… after every single print? Not ever. If I can’t return this thing I’ll sell it on eBay. Screw this. Get the Lightyear G10 Garolite plate instead, I have two of em, love the crap out of em. No weird marks, same finish, cleans with IPA

You don't have to wash every time
