@SanderSA-ny3lh Жыл бұрын
You underestimate the mental state of a lot of Tesla drivers. They have to sell a kidney, take a 3rd mortgage so they can have one on the business, and after doing all that they feel supremely important. Recently had one who lanehogged for a spectacular 15 kilometers. All the way from just before Hilversum the Netherlands all the way to Huizen, glued to the left lane no matter what, pile of cars behind us... Around here 1 kilometer is ussually roadrage-inducing already. So I passed him on the right and got in front. He instantly floored it trying to cut me out (that's a crime, not an infraction). The model 3 driver went ballistic instantly, undertook me and tried to push me out of the lane, then took the same exit, followed me, got out and tried to drag me out of my car, then began trying to smash the window. So I started to roll down the window (catch the punch, hold him, floor it and drag him a couple hundred meters, see how he likes that, least risk to me compared to a few rounds of roadside boxing) and that's when the light turned green. A Volvo driver had seen the roadrage, quickly tucked left in between us and held position next to a car on the right to block him. I reported the incident to the police obviously, forward-facing dashcam caught the Tesla driver screeching at me and banging on the window after all, I was told it wasn't the first report about said driver. Obviously he doesn't own the Tesla, it's either business-owned or lease. Pathetic. As for more common Tesla behaviour: Permanently hogging the middle lane is basically Tesla driver 101. I am outright surprised if I encounter a Tesla in the correct lane. Without trying to exagerate I think maybe 3% of Tesla drivers ever use the right lane if there 3 lanes or more.

Glad that rod didn't pass thru the bumper and thru the frunk into the dashwall!!! 15 - Illegal manuever over a SOLID line in the road, as well as IN traffic. 12 - Those RR arms are supposed to retract back UP if they hit something going down. Obviously this one needs to be repaired, as it didn't do that. Glad they got out of there!!!!! 9 - Poor bear! That was a SKINNY bear, he was out looking for food. THANK YOU TO ALL THE WONDERFUL DRIVERS THAT STOPPED FOR MR. BEAR!!!!!💖💖 7 - This is when you turn that video over to the authorities and report a violent and deadly driver. This is sick and perverted. 4 - Astronomy Bum RULES! Another lover of life, in ALL FORMS!!!! THANK YOU for saving Mr. Turtle!!! Mother Nature loves those who love her children!!!💖💖 3 - OMG!!!! Now you KNOW vehicles are shoddy pieces of crap nowadays when they just instantly disintigrate like that when being hit!!!! OMG!!!! Hope that driver survived!!! Scary stuff!!!! 1 - Now THAT is how kids are supposed to have fun during the summer!!!! Not stuck infront of a computer or phone rotting their brains.
@amzarnacht6710 Жыл бұрын
3 - Vehicles are designed to disintegrate because each piece takes force to separate, force that is then removed from the overall impact and not transferred to the occupants. It's called ablation; sacrificing exterior parts to preserve the interior. And no, the vehicles did not disintegrate. Most of that was the contents of the trailer. Both trucks lost wheel assemblies - the driver's side front of the offending vehicle, driver's side rear of the victim truck. The overall superstructure of both vehicles was not severely damaged.

Protip: keep track of what’s behind and next to you at all times, so when people rapidly brake in front of you, you know where you can ditch to. Brake before doing so just for a moment and you’ll give the driver behind you more time and distance to stop.

@rpurdy4821 : For the past 20+ years now, cars have been being built more & more chintzy. They're also intentionally designed to essentially "explode" on impact, absorbing energy & sacrificing themselves, in order to minimize the forces of impact on the driver and occupants, often sacrificing the entire vehicle as a total loss. Cars are very much more disposable today, than they've ever been. Also, I know it's a total shot in the dark, but I noticed your username is rpurdy. You wouldn't happen to be Rick Purdy, married to Lillian, formerly of New York, would you? If so, we know each other, as I used to be married to your wife's sister. Small world!

In accidents like a frontal small overlap (which the IIHS tests), you want the wheel to rip off, becuase you don't want it pushed into the passenger compartment where it could cause severe leg injuries.
@EnhancedTrashBin Жыл бұрын
@@TechSavvyOppayup, if you compare older cars to newer cars, older ones were a lot more damage and if you tried to full send a car straight into a wall that car and you included would've been completely crushed like the ones you'd see in old cartoons where they drive a car straight into a wall. Newer cars have definitely gotten better in terms of safety but that safety sure cost a lot to repair for just a simple bumper replacement.

Matt is a scary dude, ngl. I'd be horrified to be behind, around, or near him on the road. He clearly has issues with road rage, but what bothers me most is he just shamelessly doesn't mind people seeing it. The video he submitted with him avoiding the truck and pulling out in front of a stopped lane of traffic...is the type of video you watch and gasp in horror at yourself and immediately self reflect how dumb and reckless of a decision you just made. The very last thing you'd do is share it to everyone online. Or at the very least share it to fess up and show you were the idiot and take fault. But he kept argueing he was correct, since he came from the right. In 2018. Since 2004, cyclists have right of way if coming from the right.
