Just say the answer, the only reason to say the letter was when they had the 15 second timers. You have to be really absent minded to say the wrong letter and final before composing yourself. They ended up giving a Mulligan to a celebrity who made the same mistake on the Kimmel reboot. Even for charity it left a bad taste in my mouth given ordinary people didn't get the same treatment. I think the rule is fair because there has be some penalty for not having it together and preventing disputes but the reboot sort of undermined it by cheating for her.
