Very god job Vincenzo, I wanna leave my opinion also in English, I hope this will help the channel have more followers. In my opinion both are great speakers but this is what I thought while listening: I image myself to be in a professional studio recording, one side of the glass there is the band playing and the other side there is control room with mixer and monitor . Evo sound's more to me like being in the control room, listening the band as the final mix will be, Denton sounds more to me like being in the live room, I can feel the natural sound of the instruments, even the groove change to me .... so as a musician I like it more ! Hope this make sense ! Anyway, you had fun in doing the video and we have fun in listening. Very helpful thank you Vincenzo

Thanks for taking the time to do this. They both sound great, and more similar than I’d expect. I’d probably take the Dentons due to the old-school and compact design, which is starting to grow on me listening to all these demos people are doing. Plus, they are $200 cheaper, and I have heard (don’t know if true) that the 4.2 tends to be a little “beamy”. Wharfedale is really rolling out great stuff, though.

@@kelvinkelvin1335 Hi friend, sure, I had the quad vein, but it was small, not very dynamic and satisfying, it was a 50w at the end, I would go on an audiolab 8300, very refined x le evo, if you want warmth to the music an advance acustic a10, or a roksan k3, this is very fast and dynamic as an amplifier, I would tell you to take a look at it, all good reviews, in my opinion and he does it for you, the evos want power, and the roksan has a lot of it.

I have the Denton 85’s paired with a Denon 1600ne integrated amp (140W) and SVS SB-2000 Pro subwoofer (sealed @ 550W). Absolutely love the rich, smooth and full sound of these bookshelves!! Mainly listen to Jazz. The D85’s excel at mid-range clarity and tonality of instruments (drums, guitars, double bass, string bass, saxophone, trumpet, piano, etc). Set-up in 16’x22’ family room. Can play loud/clear/controlled to 95dB (meter placed 3’ in front of speaker) and reach 85dB max @ center listening chair 16’ away. Sounds good at mid & low listening levels, too. Love these D85’s, pure musical bliss every time I turn my 2.1 channel system on!! PS: For streaming, suggest the BlueSound Node. Two reasons .. Can use the Node’s “sub-out” to connect to a subwoofer, which many amps/integrated amps are lacking. Also can use its “optical-out” to connect to a better sounding external DAC. Note: I connect Node’s optical-out to the internal DAC on my Denon 1600ne amp (Burr Brown chip, PCM 1795). It’s smother/fuller sounding than the Node’s internal DAC!

Ciao Vincenzo, e grazie per il video, apprezzatissimo. Io preferisco di gran lunga le Evo, hanno un suono meno analirico, e alle mie orecchie più naturale e reale quindi. Però secondo me le Denton suonano ad un volume leggermente più alto (infatti hanno,una sensibilitá di 1 db maggiore). Per questi confronti, secondo me dovresti rendere uguale il volume a cui suonano imdue diffusori, e non lasciare il volume dell'ampli fisso. Magari c'é qualche app semplice e gratuita per iphone che misura la spl. Così i confronti sarebbero più equilibrati e veritieri. Ciao

I have the EVO 4.2 connected to an Audiolab 6000A play amp, also a wonderful combination. I love the Evo's 4.2. (off topic) But for me the winning combination are the Lintons connected to a Leak Stereo 230, which I also have 🙂

I like the sound of both speakers. However the Dentons have kept up with the Evos and did so without a midrange driver! They also garnered the most votes in this contest. I like the look of the Evos. Ottime casse tutte e due, a mio modesto parere ( da musicista piu’ che da audiofilo ) mi vien da dire questo, visto che la sorgente e’ la stessa : Dalle Evo esce un suono molto definito e cristallino sopratutto in alto, sembra il duo jazz che e’ stato registrato in studio . Mentre le Denton a mio parere sono piu’ “ live “ e naturali, cioe’ sembra proprio di sentire i musicisti li nella stanza col suono degli strumenti dal vivo. Se dovessi scegliere in questo contesto preferisco le Denton . Pero’ c’e’ dietro un’ottima amplificazione sicuramente quindi probabile suonarebbe bene qualsiasi cosa ;-) Bravo Vincenzo bel video e grazie per il tuo lavoro/passione che ci metti !!

Gentile Vincenzo, sono in procinto di cambiare i miei diffusori e sarei orientato verso delle Wharfedale Linton o Denton, ma ora sto valutando anche la serie 4 (4.2 o anche 4.3). Ho apprezzato moltissimo questa tuo modo di comparare i 2 prodotti utilizzando 2 video (uno per bass and drum e l'altro per un brano con voce). Condivido pienamente quanto detto da albylizhard, infatti di primo acchito, tra i 2 prodotti in esame, sarei più per le Denton, ma... in caso di ascolti prolungati, secondo te, questo suono più brillante non sarà affaticante? (vero è anche, però, che mi sembra, dalla riproduzione in cuffia, che vi sia anche una "apertura" maggiore, che è decisamente piacevole...). Che ne dici? Grazie per una tua eventuale risposta (ma anche per una risposta degli amici audiofili che hanno seguito il test 🙂

Ciao carissimo, grazie per il tuo pensiero ☺️.si,le Denton brillano un po' in alto ma vanno bene,non affaticono più di tanto(tipo klipsh) x esempio,ma con una giusta amplificazione, vengono domate bene .le Linton invece sono di categoria superiore,penso che lo sai, essendo un diffusore a 3 vie.pii estensione,il medio alto è molto dolce,il basso c'è ne abbastanza,bhe, dipende uno cosa vuole 👍

Ho rivolto un pensiero anche alle Denton solo perché in tal caso sarebbe contemporaneo l'acquisto di un sub (da 8 o da 10 ancora non so visto che si tratterebbe di un soggiorno di 25 mq...) magari sempre Wharfedale (anche se non mi è ancora chiara la differenza tra le famiglie di sub di detto marchio...). Diversamente, se optassi per le Linton, probabilmente non lo comprerei...uhm... non so... comunque grazie ancora per la tua risposta e complimenti per il tuo prezioso lavoro che condividi con tutti 😉

...per il momento solo cose economiche. Sony, Pioneer, nulla di che'. Dell impianto che ti ho citato ieri ho tenuto solo il giradischi Thorens TD 166. Ha 48 anni ma sembra uscito di fabbrica ora. Per un nuovo impianto stavo vedendo in "giro". Per esempio i diffusori da stand Quad Z2 (2100 euro)Twitter a nastro bass reflex non sarebbero male. Le conosci? Le Linton85 pure suonano bene, ma la presenza del medio nella cassa mette troppo in evidenza le frequenze medie (secondo me). Cosa ne pensi invece delle Quad Z2 ?

Appreciate your video however a speakers sound is totally dependent on the associated equipment that is driving those speakers! Would have been nice to list which brand equipment you were using to make these comparisons! Prime example I have a Naim Nait 5si and if paired with a simple cheap pair of Elac B6 2.0 makes those speakers sizzle! They become double their value, but when using some cheap electronics i.e. an off the shelf receiver they are nothing special!

the difference is quite evident live, the dentons are no longer live, while the evos are a little more closed, as if they sounded more muffled, for me the denton have a richer and more dynamic sound.
