Wharfedale Denton85 VS Wharfedale Evo 4.2

Only Option To Listen KZbin Sound Demo is with good headphones, not your favorite sound system because listening to two rooms at once is not a good thing, no matter how good your sound system is.
Hi friends, these dentos are playing at full capacity now, in this comparison, in my opinion, the dentos do not sound better, even if only slightly.I recommend listening to this song until the last, and as always my video is always a demonstration video. Headphones are always recommended .

Got both the Evo 4.2 and the Denton 85th. Specs aside, I think there is no winner. They both operate kind of in the same price range. Both get this timbre in female vocals and raspy coloration in male vocals by the likes of Cohen and Cash . The Dentons have some depth to them as it often seems they give the "illusion" of some sound coming from within the cabinet instead of the front. This is what makes them what they are and worth on their own. They sound bigger and they sound natural. The Evos strong point is weight in music. It is not really just more bass , it is more in terms of structure of a sound of an instrument. it really gets upright basses and pianos right. Or like someone said it better; you can not only hear the drums but the stick on the drums as well. The Dentons are like mini Lintons and grab attention in their liveliness. Both the Dentons and Evos are addicting speakers that when ever sold, one might regret at some stage. They are both being described as loudspeakers that are in no need of a sub woofer but when you get a sub that goes really deep and has low crossover point, definitely connect it. It makes a completer picture. I would say that the Evo given their larger format ideally require slightly more distance for listening, where the Dentons (also) do better in a closer range. Both easily 5 stars and as in the question as to which one is better. Both deserve a shared entry in the hall of fame.

Please tell me, have you converted the crossover to evo 4.2 or is everything from the factory. What kind of a moshness amplifier will you hook up to the evo 4.2 and denton. You don't have twitter hiss on denton. With great respect.

@@user-pv7ht7ho3z I use a Yamaha Wxa50 amp for the Evo 4.2 and a Arylic A50+ for the Denton 85th. No hissing issues at all. To be honest if there are hissing issues with modern gear. I can't literally compare but I wonder it there are any electricity issues in some regions. Here in the Netherlands everything from source to outlet is well structured. Had trouble in other countries with these things,which also resulted in lights dimming slightly. In those cases some power management components might work or better shielding might effectively apply. An electrician can probably measure and diagnose in line from acceptable to good. Before going into buying needless extra's :)

@@Beathoven007 Isn't the amplifier a little weak for denton class D. Maybe an amplifier with a toroidal transformer is better. I meant that the silk tweeter does not whisper, there are complaints.

Now that is a song that really compliments Dentons. Acoustic instruments have natural attack and timbre. They also sound fuller, richer a bit forward maybe, but not bright. Great comparison!

Dentons sound more detailed and have more attack a little forward but not fatiguing i guess. evo sounded veiled.

I'm just choosing between these options, how did you guess that I'll need it in half a year)) Thank you for the excellent work! In my case not enough to compare quad s2 :) From the sound that I can catch through the headphones, there is some kind of purity in the sound of the evo 2. They did not mix the instruments until the last moment at the end. I'm just impressed by them. But compared to the Denton it lacks a bit of character, or I just found the Denton brighter in the high frequencies. For some reason, it also seems that the Evo 2 requires more amperage or has a lower impedance - I honestly did not look at the specifications. But it feels like they need more gain. I wonder if it is possible to build a home theater on their basis )) They both seem to need a spacious room ))))))

Hello friend, thank you for your thoughts. The evos are refined in the medium-high, a warmer sound, a nice bass, the teeth do not play more live, open, it depends what you like. For ht I would bet on the evos, they are 3-way, as amperage .... yes, a good amplifier with good current, they sound very good. they fulfill even bigger standards, but even in a 5x4 they are fine, the sound pressure is very good. I had both but my vote was evo 4.2 it just had it all.. I should add the evo sounds it's best with D class amplification, xtz and smsl for two...

excellent choice friend, they are both excellent speakers for the price, personal taste takes over here, and the combination of electronics, but they remain excellent speakers for the price.
