Absolutely love her home as my design inspiration is also Parisian apartments with an eclectic mix of old and modern, and I love her mix of light and dark spaces where she’s chosen her paint colors intentionally. My boyfriend and I are renovating a 1950’s house in the south and it’s pretty bland architecturally, so I’ve been anticipating when we’ll get to add molding and details to bring some interest into the house. My goal is that even without furniture it will still feel cozy. Also everybody talking about her privilege should at least still acknowledge she’s made the place her own and she’s not ignorant of her upbringing. Everything has a story or familial context. In my opinion she’s very grounded and actually pretty humble, and I am very prone to disliking select homeowners of home tour videos bc some of them come off pretty ignorant or are just pure flexing without any personal investment or interest in their space.

She just wanted to show the perspective of someone who grew up in New York and still lives there now. No reason to call the series unoriginal now just because one video isn’t exactly the same as the others. Blair Waldorf vibes. I live in a 400 sq ft studio for $1800 in San Diego. Very cool place though. I am curious, does your family own this place and you pay mortgage for $1300? Or this is just a lease?

It is a rental. NYC has a legal system on some housing called "rent stabilization" that is a somewhat complicated rent control system. This woman inherited her apartment from her parents, she was allowed to take over her parents lease. What she has is extremely rare.

My great great aunt had one of these apartments on Park Ave, it was prime real estate, the people who owned the apartment bought her out of it in the 90s for a lot of money.
