Not to be that person. But Central Park was the home to the Seneca village which were black German and Irish (immigrants) individuals who were later forced into Harlem and Brooklyn. It’s the part of the history that often left out. 50 churches and over 200 homes we’re destroyed

Yeah and where the bronx zoo is was called bear swamp before the white man stole this continent and was the hide out for indigenous locals fleeing being killed by the white man .. and the area between Peter Cooper village and Saint marks place was a gathering place when leaders from AL indigenous tribes came together .. pre white man again and Staten island was kinda like a game preserve where they would hunt whenever needed ...in the east 50s by the river there were rock carvings a type of directions but it's under cement now ... so much history is left out or twisted away from truth

I think it's important. I am from clear across the country, literally as far on the West Coast as this video was filmed on the East Coast. And I would have taken what was in this video as the end of the story of the park, not knowing any different. But I saw your comment and then I looked up more information on the origin of the area. If we know our history we'll, we are less likely to repeat it. And those in power want us to forget because they stand to gain if we do

This is heartbreaking for me. Lived in NYC for years and finally had to give up and move out of the city (even though I still work in NYC) because of rent. Very jealous that she was able to get a rent stabilized apt for her first apt in nyc.
@suqarBoomBoom2 жыл бұрын
As a native NYer it’s definitely hard for me to see someone just move into NYC and get a rent-stabilized apt. I honestly believe they should just be for natives or ppl who have lived here for years. I have a rent-stabilized apt on the UES that I inherited but I’ve seen so many of my neighbors I grew up with pushed out. At the end of the day I’m happy for her but I would have preferred to see someone from the neighborhood actually get this blessing.

@SisterFromAnotherPlanet2 жыл бұрын
@@Southpaw128 I think that's because Central Park is narrower, so at least you can walk across E/W in 10 minutes, it's only 3 crosstown blocks and it feels like there's an end...but Prospect Park is a big blob with no clear straight way across a mile in the middle

I've never been a fan of checkered floors with neutral colors, but in this case the visual effect it produces is acceptable. I like the "industrial" tone given by the metallic details of the tubes on the chairs and tables, but mostly how good that floor lamp looks and how compatible it is with the general aesthetic. I have an Arco lamp from Manhattan Home Design and I also love how it looks in my living room because of its imposing steel arch and Carrara marble base. Thanks for sharing the tour!
