I am a free to play player so I only spend pokecoins which I get from defending gyms 50 coins per day . I haven't spent a SINGLE DOLLAR in the game since I started but I grind hard everyday day so I have good amount of shiny's and hundo's from my free grind

Yeah, overall in 4 years, I have spent R2100 (130.90$) which isn't to bad for 4 years of playing, I have gotten pretty far in the game. Compared to mortal Kombat mobile which I also am a big fan of playing since last year March, I spent R4200 on mortal Kombat only in 1 year😅 So, if you think about it, Pokémon Go is alot more affordable in general than other mobile games when it comes to purchases. Also, if one is smart and goes for the cheapest option which is R7 for 100 pokecoins each and you od that 14x, you will save alot more money than when it comes to buying the huge costs for 1000coins or something Hope this helps :) Also as a fan of Pokemon Go and playing since October 2016, and as a hobby, I don't mind spending money on the game here and there for events such as egg hatching and raiding. Although, these days raiding isn't ideal for money wise as you could have done like 40 raids and still no shiny. My luck and passion recently lies in the egg hatching where I have hatched a couple of shinies which is epic so, I think these days, I am buying the ultra boxes that contain incubators for that. But I guess we all have our different ways of luck in this game e.g. wild spawns; raids; hatching etc

Im a usd10 player and I am very particular on using each item. 1. When i use incense, I start when im walking and mostly during special event/prolong duration. 2. Before I start my lucky egg, i plan on what to do/evolve/friendship. Usually i bundle all together. 3. Stardust only when special/boosted stardust event 4. Only raid legendary/special pokemon in raid only. Because legendary probability is higher. 5. Buy bundle/special box if all item used. The smaller ur budget, the more particular and more plan when u use ur items

I luckily never have to worry about spending pokecoins for items because after coming back after 9 months of losing interest in the game, I came back now in June for the best time (Go Fest; Field research; Deino com day coming still; Mewtwo in raids) Reason why I don't have to worry about spending coins on items is because I have so many special Research tasks that I haven't completed still so, I can get items such as premium riad passes and pokeballs and all🤣 I only completed last year's Go Fest research after this year's Go Fest 🤣🤣 Also got a random shiny Hopip yesterday 🤩

As someone who hasn’t spent any money on the game I’m enjoying seeing how I hold up in comparison. On another subject entirely… Buddy functionality idea: What if for a certain amount of Km walked with a buddy, the trainer were given the ability to improve the buddy’s IVs by 1? And let’s say the Km needed were based on the rarity of the Pokémon and would multiply by 1.2x each IV gained. For example, based on the eggs the Pokémon hatch from, or the level raid needed for the reward encounter, would determine if you needed 20 (tier1), 30 (tier3), 40 (tier4) or 50Km (tier5) walked for a single IV improvement. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Charmander, they would need to walk 148.832km (round to 149) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Gible, they would need to walk 297.664km (round to 298) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Mewtwo, they would need to walk 446.496km (round to 447) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. Pros: - This would make spoofing or radar services less profitable and encourages more gameplay with the same Pokémon. - Entices player to “bond” with a single Pokémon for longer and therefore play the game more often to get the coveted 100% dex. Cons: - All players would have access to the best Pokémon if they walk enough - Pvp players would need to make sure to avoid gaining hearts walking their buddy, or not apply the “bonding” IVs earned. If you can think of any other pros/cons, reply to this comment so we can share our thoughts about the idea and maybe someone at Niantic will pick it up! I still think $ = shiny. Yes grinding is important in that equation but you spent $100 bucks and got 7 shinys in a day. I might be wrong or maybe I'm right but it only makes a small difference. But either way I just feel like more money = more shinys. I love Pokémon go but I wouldn't put it past Niantic to put that in their algorithm.
