The song is a remaster of the original studio recording of DPS doing the song. Dany, Pau, and Ale's vocals were added to the song separately, with Dany and Pau's lead vocals replacing Jack (the Lead Singer of DPS) for verse two and three respectively. The producer was Anton DeLost for DPS who, while he was producing TW's KMF, introduced Dany, Pau, and Ale to DPS's latest music in the the studio. Earlier this year, TW and DPS both met on ShipRocked. There is a video of Pau dancing and singing to this song while in the audience on the ship. Apparently, they shared socials and started following each other on Instagram after that. And DPS saw the video captured of Pau. Both bands were also at Louder Than Life and Aftershock. Before the DPS appearance at Aftershock, Jack messaged Ale asking if anyone wanted to join them on stage for a song. Pau jumped at the chance. There are some fan cam recordings of that taking place during this song. That was the beginning of idea for creating this version of the song, adding in Dany and Ale's parts as well as Pau's. DPS is from Boston and attended Berklee College of Music around the same time as Dany, Pau, and Ale. Not sure if they ever met there, but it is possible. DPS is now based out of Huntington Beach, CA. They are scheduled to perform a couple of gigs in Mexico next month, so, I'm hoping DPA joins them on stage for a live rendition of this.

The DPS lead singer (who sings the first verse) has a high voice that kind of blends in with The Warning’s vocals. 😎👍

The song portrays a deeply introspective struggle with self-doubt, frustration, and the emotional cost of chasing a dream. It questions whether the sacrifices made-financial instability, mental strain, and emotional burnout-are worth it. The conflicting voices in the song reflect the narrator's own insecurities as well as external pressures, painting a raw and honest picture of the anxieties tied to ambition. The collaboration between Dead Poet Society and The Warning on "Hurt" started pretty organically. It all kicked off when The Warning was working on Keep Me Fed with producer Anton DeLost, who also produced Dead Poet Society’s album Fission. When "Hurt" dropped, The Warning heard it in the studio and instantly became fans, even congratulating Anton on the track’s success. Then came Shiprocked, where The Warning and Dead Poet Society first met. Paulina from The Warning was seen singing along to "Hurt" on social media, and Dead Poet Society noticed. The Warning got to hear the song live for the first time, which only made them more excited about it. The big moment happened at Aftershock when Dead Poet Society invited Paulina to perform "Hurt" on stage with them. That performance sealed the deal, and both bands started talking about recording a version together. It didn’t take long for them to make it happen. In the studio version, Dead Poet Society handled all the instrumentals, while Dany, Pau, and Ale from The Warning contributed backing vocals. The vocal arrangement goes like this: the first verse and chorus are sung by Dead Poet Society's lead singer Jack Underkofler, then Dany takes the second verse with either Pau or Ale joining in harmonies during the second half. It sounds like Pau on the second chorus. Jack starts off the bridge, and then it switches to Pau. The final chorus has everyone coming in at once, creating a powerful, unified sound. Both bands are super excited to see this version of "Hurt" released. It turned into a really special collaboration that blends their voices and styles in a way that makes the song feel even more impactful.

This is a previously-released Dead Poets Society (DPS) song, not a The Warning song. DPS's singer, Jack sings the beginning of the song, Dany sings the second verse, and Pau sings the third verse. Ale, Dany and Pau also sing backup gang vocals with Jack.

Best said. Now, who's growling, Jack or Dany?

Dany in the 2nd verse and Pau after the bridge. The DPS lead singer elsewhere (1st verse, 3rd verse, etc.). This is a (previously released) DPS song, with members of TW guesting on vocals in this release.
