I’m a 35 year old Rush fan who loves progressive music and am always searching for that new, modern band who can make me feel the way I did when I first heard Rush and Muse for the first time. Honestly, these girls and their band The Warning just may be the best band I’ve ever heard…and that’s just based on their newest album ERROR. So much musical and lyrical maturity at such a young age is astounding! I literally had goosebumps on every song for the entire album. I just want to thank Wings of Pegasus for supporting them and bringing them to my attention again. I can say without a doubt I will be a lifelong fan of theirs!!! The way I’m absorbed into the music and atmosphere they create is unmatched. Never compromise girls…PLEASE!!!

Thanks for explaining the details! In the comment section of what is being shown here, I quoted Dani saying before she played this, "Music is passion, music is hope, music is life!" Then she proves what she says! It now has over 260 thumbs up, and is a famous quote for the ages. The trio are multi instrumental (Dani can rock a saxaphone too) combined musical genius, and practice, practice, practice for over 5 hours a day! These girls never expected or intended for this phenomenon to happen, they were just discovered innocently practicing their home hobby, fun and games and have said they now hope to do this for the rest of their lives.

Absolutely. First time I saw they were still very young and I was mostly impressed with the oldest of the three, who has a very mature voice, and didn't sound like a teenager at all. But the more I listen, the more impressed I am with the drummer. Her super energetic style with big motions reminds me of Dave Grohl, but she's also an amazing singer with a very bright voice that she can put a lot of anger and grit in when she wants to, but most of all, she does it all at the same time! Singing drummers are surprisingly rare (Dave Grohl stopped drumming when he started the Foo Fighters, Phil Collins stopped drumming when he became the singer of Genesis; how many real singing drummers are there? Roger Taylor of Queen is all I can come up with at the moment), but she nails it. She drums complex stuff and stays right on top of the singing. The other two are very good, and together they're fantastic, but that drummer is something else.
@MartijnVos3 жыл бұрын
@@ScragNath That's a matter of choice and style, and doesn't really matter to the music itself. But check out the bass groove on Dust to Dust (probably my favourite song from The Warning).

Here we are again, 2 1/2 years since you first put this out, Fil. The ladies have signed with Lava and they are erupting onto the scene. Their cover of "Enter Sandman" with Alessia Cara is popping up all over popular media. The crew covering the Texas A&M game used it as bumper music after halftime today. Their first recording sessions with Lava produced so much that it's going to be released in two EP's. "Choke" and "Evolve" are climbing the charts. It's been a wonderful ride, so far. I hope I live long enough to see them become mega-stars. Odds are looking poorly, but who knows. I've been fighting cancer since '05 and I haven't had a new tumor in 16 months. maybe I will make it.

Thank you sooooo much for doing this reaction!! I am an extreme fan of The Warning, and I've also been keeping an eye n your channel. I am so glad you two have finally met. I just can't seem to get enough of The Warning! Also, your discourse on the recording industry is something I have been shouting from the rooftops ever since I discovered The Warning. Many people comment on their videos saying they will never hit it big unless they get a record deal. To them I have said, repeatedly, while The Warning would certainly enjoy being hugely famous, that is not the drive behind what they are doing. They are accomplished musicians who love music and each other. What they desire is to make music and entertain with the gifts they have, using their creative imaginations, and their style. Having turned down several very well known companies, they said, and I quote (nearly word for word), "Thank you, but we'd rather play for 12 people our way than 12000 your way." I do, however, have confidence they will gain true global notoriety at some point, as they are that good. I overcame my fear of flying and traveled 3000 miles to attend a private concert by these amazing young women, and I can tell you without reservation It was the best concert I have ever been to. I was also fortunate enough to have met them, albeit briefly, and they are the sweetest bunch of gals you'll ever want to meet. You Have Been WARNED!!!

Fil!! I'm thrilled to see that this is what you've chosen to review in honor of Intl Women's Day! These three little ladies, all young women now, are truly something to behold. And you are only scratching the tip of the iceberg. However, I must say, that was one intensive and detailed analysis, but not only was it incredibly insightful, you made a couple of points that an earnest fan like myself hadn't even considered yet. IOW, you went above and beyond, and managed to impress even the proudest of TW fans with your incisive insights. Bravo!!! And thank you so much!!

Evening Mate! You had so much to invect, and it's all correct. First, I really loved what this band did! Second, I can't help but hear some extra emotion from your last analysis. Keep it up my friend! CHEERS from SoCal!

I just love the way you analyze the band , you get into depth of what's really going on even about things we ordinary people don't really understand you explain it to a tee... Thanks Wings Of Pegasus greetings from the United States 🇬🇧🇺🇸

If you like the punk influence I bet you'll like the song "P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C."from their new album "Queen of the Murder Scene". Sound is not so super good because it's a fan clip from their last gig but you might get an idea. Link is to the song. You might want to watch the whole gig. ;) Have fun! kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4evfah5d6dqiq8

I really think they are more progressive rock in the vein of Rush the way they change tempo.
@thomasdeckermusic65435 жыл бұрын
Robert Byrd They are not even close to being a prog band 😂 also they are not changing tempo.... they are changing intensity throughout the song. Tempo is used to measure speed of a song

Wow, Fil! This was great! Thanks for re-explaining the click track! My initial reaction was how amazing it is to sing lead while playing drums! To me the drummer is fully engaged all the time, like a helicopter pilot with the many movements synchronized! I appreciate the detail of keyboards on the track which I did miss til you pointed it out! Electric performance with astute analysis!

This was great fun. I agree with you, I’ll take raw talent over plastic performers any day of the week. I look forward to seeing more from them. Currently, I’m listening to many young musicians here, rather than commercial radio.

Because of this video Fil, I ended up joining their Patreon and buying all their albums. Anyway I'm rewatching this video and have it paused where you are talking about Paulina's intro in the song. You are mentioning how it sounds kinda broadway and you're kinda right. On the album XXI Century Blood they recorded her intro and the piano in a sort of vaudeville, early 20th century vibe. Really cool especially considering their age. Anyway thanks for lightening my wallet. Oh, I joined your Patreon as well but had to quit for a month or two, i'll be back. I had to upgrade my sub to The Warning i'm sure you understand... Rock \m/

Thank you for reacting to the Warning, I was very interested in your reaction. As one of their patrons i have been following these sisters since their Sandman cover went viral when they were 10,12, 14yrs. The EP and two albums they have released so far were all done independently. The wont sign with big company's because the company's want the band to change. I understand Nickelodeon, Simon Calwell and others have approached them. These girls are serious and work hard on their music. Also Survive and all the recordings, the music, lyrics, and studio production is theirs. The do use a pro studio mixer, I believe Dani has plans to learn how to use the Studio. Sorry about the length of this comment, there is just so much to know about these three talented sisters. Just youtube there many videos of singles and concerts. Available are the concerts they opened for Def Leppard and also the killers, their love of music always comes across.

That's great, it would be cool if independent bands were given the opportunity to support well known artists, without the headliners label just filling the support slot with a band from the same label, regardless of how well they suit the headline band. That's a problem I've found throughout my 16 years of performing. Supporting established signed bands has always been a firmly closed door. But now there's a real possibility, and these girls are showing it, that an artist's success could be in the hands of the public, and not the big record companies. Now that would be cool!

Great reaction video. Thank you for your insights into the technical aspects, that's something I wasn't aware of before. The Warning has now signed a record deal, but the impression is that it's very much on their terms. They've been around for awhile, yet they haven't lost any of that energy or even that freshness. Long may it continue.
