will not clog up no matter how slushy the snow is and throws the snow twice as far!
@paulcondie99326 жыл бұрын
but, after watching the vid seems like you might have a flow issue with the hydraulics but if there's too much of a gap between the impeller and the housing it'll do the same! if not familiar with an impeller kit Google it, my blower hasn't clogged in the wettest of snow since I installed mine! impressive

GTL that was my thought looks like it’s intended for deeper snow. that is to raise the blade so it’s not picking up stones and stuff , and then mush through 3 foot deep drifts
@DJK69146 жыл бұрын
I think if it doesn't work in 2 inches why would it work in 2 feet. It's something else that's wrong with the speed of it
@bradd74236 жыл бұрын
It didn't even look like the snow was deep enough to get to where to gets sucked up and blowing out... I think it would move snow just fine in deeper snow

Right on buddy what a joke
@Tasman_Ninja6 жыл бұрын
My thinking is that in 1 inch there is not enough snow to push it through the machine, therefore the snow just sits there and freezes. Whereas with more snow, say 2 feet there would be enough volume of snow to keep the feed up and push the snow through the machine not just sitting there freezing the auger/impeller. Then again that is just my thought, i live in australia and have never seen more that a couple inches of snow in my life

a little tip about snowblowers, they need snow, if your trying to use it on anything short of well it varies for me my rule on my 36in walk behind is 2 inches for that big thing maybe three or or four, here's the trick instead of shooting off to the side shoot forward and build up the snow to allow it to properly clean itself out and once the snow is built up a bit turn the chute to the side for a bit then turn it back forward again, but like I said anything less than just a guess here three or four inches of moist dense snowball snow and like 6 inches of fluffy powder and there's not enough there to allow debris to float through and over all not enough to get the force behind it to throw.all the way to the side, if you have it turned to the side and it is just anemically making it past the side of the blower turn the chute straight.

On the snowblower. I think you may have two problems going on there. First is low flow of fluid and the second is the relief valve is set at to low of pressure. The fan stopping indicates that as soon as there is a bit of back pressure the valve lets go. Get someone with hydraulic system experience to look at it. That power unit on the 3 PTH should have lots of power to run the blower.

@agentjwa6 жыл бұрын
no, 540 rpm is standard pto shaft speed since forever. all tractors with pto have the pto speed on the tach or a separate gauge. he is not running his tractor at 540rpm, probably close to 3000rpm
@arkycadd6 жыл бұрын
Thank you Everyone, I was asking Cody a simple question to verify, as a Farm Equipment Mechanic. I could hear his machine revving up to a higher RPM, but I always ask, to eliminate the simplest of errors. I lnoe that a standard PTO runs at 540 RPM, except for the 1000 RPM John Deere PTO. I know that you have to Rev the Motor RPM's up to get the proper PTO speed of 540 because of gearing in the power transfer department.

You don’t have enough snow for a blower to work properly plus the hydraulic blower are horrible
@808jpm6 жыл бұрын
what are you thinking? pto direct drive blower? I would bet pto driven is better, also not enough snow - but as everyone else says, the blades don't seem to be running fast enough. Any chance of getting high-speed footage or an optical tach on the PTO shaft and blade to check that speeds are as expected?
@chuckccfd96 жыл бұрын
808jpm I use a PTO front mount blower I clear my parking lot and all of our RV spaces out and about 15 driveways all winter we had a hydraulic run blower even with the power pack set up it was horrible got away from that after the first year I now run a 43hp kabota pto blower it’s great
@hartstudebakerkid6 жыл бұрын
The Yanmar does not have a forward PTO and Cody plows long driveways so plowing in reverse would be a bother. That Yanmar only has 10 gpm hydraulics so he has to have a powerpack.
@newjerseybill35216 жыл бұрын
One of the problems of watching a rotating piece in a video is the stroboscopic effect between the shaft speed and the frames per second. You can change shaft speed so in the video it actually looks like it is not turning at all, or even running backwards.
@Femmpaws6 жыл бұрын
Looking at the auger speed Cody it seems to be turning at about half speed from what the auger turns on the shops snow blower. I wonder if they geared the pump for 1000 RPM PTO speed. I'll have to try making French Toast English Muffin the next time I want French Toast. Thank you for the snapshot of an afternoon at the homestead and family life with the new addition to the family. I think Jack is going to make a good father when he get there... I wonder why? Not really!
@benwinckler1316 жыл бұрын
You don't need to up you pressure but gpm your pump is capable of 22 gpm but only at 1000rpm Your pump seems to be a p55 (I actually don't know but that's what it looks like) type model (5.5 ci). The formula: Displacement of pump × rpm ÷ 231(cubic inches in a gallon)= gpm Let's see 5.5 ci × 500 rpm ÷ 231ci = 11gpm and only one of those you cam change and that is rpm
@benwinckler1316 жыл бұрын
And your pump can handle it we run the same one at 2300 all the time on semis Your tractor can take it too because you need a minimum of 25 hp Psi×gpm×0.0007= required horsepower
@Femmpaws6 жыл бұрын
To get the motor speed, you need flow. To get the motor torque you need pressure. From what I am seeing the system is lacking both. With each Quick Couple you get flow drop and pressure drop if they are sized for just enough for the flow intended. At any elbow you again get flow and pressure drops. If those elbows are milled with sharp corners they really restrict the flow over a bent tube making the same corner. I'm just stating what I'm seeing from the video and what I have seem in like equipment on a Skid Steer. If you go look at videos of the makers snow blower and watch them in action you will note they are running at much higher speeds than what Cody is getting.
@Femmpaws6 жыл бұрын
Are you sure the pumps are turning at engine speed off the transmission PTO? As I remember they run from 50 to 75 % of engine speed depending on the transmission and PTO ratio. The PTOs are driven off the idler shaft in the transmission. Really what we are talking about doesn't change what's going on with Cody's snowblower. All we are doing is pointing at things to be looked at.

Busted shear bolt on the impeller ? That thing should be throwing snow 40 feet ..weird
@wranglerstar6 жыл бұрын
It's hydraulic there is no shear pin,
@Digger9276 жыл бұрын
???? That makes no sense, most PTO driven stuff has a shear pin in case something lodges up so it doesn't damage everything completely. You'd better check and make sure because a shear pin on that impeller was exactly my first thought. It should have a shear pin that holds that impeller to the shaft, if it's sheared then it'll likely turn until it gets a little load on it and then stop exactly like it did in the video. Check it out further and make sure, don't make an assumption like that.
@TheRinkboss6 жыл бұрын
My John Deere is hydraulic also , shear pin/bolt on each auger and one on the impeller .. your auger is turning so doesn’t make sense , but at the same time it shouldn’t move freely , you shouldn’t be able to move it with a pry bar

A couple things came to mind while watching: 1)With blading, I have learned that you have to get behind the snow. This means planning ahead by placing sheds and equipment upstream of where you want to pile the snow. 2) Did you set the loader in float mode (full lever forward) or did you just bring it down to the ground? 3) What is the slip mechanism for the blower? 4) Math: haste makes waste. Thanks for the entertainment and the reminders of our numerous blessings!

The impeller blades are too far away from the housing allowing stones to collect and lock it up extend the impeller blade by using semi truck mud flaps and cut them to size and attach to impeller blade leaving as little space as possible I did the same for my 5 horsepower Craftsman snow thrower and it throws snow farther and nothing gets stuck in the impeller there are KZbin channels showing you how to do this have a good one

It seems that yours has trouble picking up snow, its not angled forward correctly. It looks like you get alot of snow in your area. The problem is in the Yanmar Power Pack not the snow blower. Those hydrauic skidsteer snowblowers are a proven blower. This was a good time to show what the problem is and get Yanmar off their duffs.
@MrTiger00026 жыл бұрын
Hi Kev. I am wondering... for a pebble to lock up the secondary auger... doesn't that mean they didn't put enough space between the secondary auger and its tunnel? I am also wondering if the secondary auger is fast enough... I am not sure what multiples of primary auger speed.
@hartstudebakerkid6 жыл бұрын
No it just means that the blower is under powered. My MTD walk behind will toss small rocks 15 feet.
@skillage186 жыл бұрын
I am not sure what speed his blower is, the standard is usually 540rpm. His is hydraulic, so I dont know. And a pebble isnt supposed to get stuck. As you saw in the video, he barely put pressure and it unjammed. The problem is the hydraulic pack. It simply didnt have enough torque to keep turning. Ive passed huge cement blocks in blowers (because people dont know how to pickup in there driveways) and they never stopped turning( sadly). This is a bit long winded, but there must be a safety device on his blower. On the standard ones there is a saftey bolt on the main drive shaft and the smaller shaft connected to the chain sprockets in the back. These bolts usually break if there is any strain put on the equipment. His just jammed...

so are the yanmar people going to come and fix your equipment?
@Natelaf6 жыл бұрын
Kathy Bonadonna Probably not. I’ve got a new yanmar tractor and it took 6 months to get parts for its mower deck. 11 months old with 200 hrs and the loader valve is destroyed.

I bet you & Jack could setup a great Biathlon course. Y'all do cross country skiing right? And I know you have rifles.

Thumbs up, You made me feel how lucky I am.I was complaining of how damp this winter is and all the mud the dogs and cats bring into the house but at least we are 25 degrees warmer than you. You are definitely tougher than me I could not bare 13 to 15 degrees for months on end it would get me down.
