“He stated that the United States was in possession of a craft of unknown origin and had successfully gained access to its interior. This craft had a streamlined configuration suitable for aerodynamic flight but no intakes, exhaust, wings, or control surfaces. In fact, it appeared not to have an engine, fuel tanks, or fuel.”
Quote from ‘Inside the US Government Covert UFO Program: Initial Revelations’
Colm A. Kelleher, Ph.D., is a biochemist with a fifteen-year research career in cell and molecular biology. Following his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Dublin, Trinity College in 1983, Kelleher worked at the Ontario Cancer Institute, the Terry Fox Cancer Research Laboratory, and the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine. For the past eight years he has worked as project manager and team leader at a private research institute, using forensic science methodology to unravel scientific anomalies.

I’m an astrophotographer, taking clear photos of something in the sky is very difficult, even with expensive gear. So snapping a quick photo with your iPhone is doomed to fail, especially if it’s moving, I’ve tried many times and always end up with blurry garbage.

Last spring, someone in the neighborhood had a birthday party for their kid in their backyard. A gold helium balloon had escaped & was floating like 100ft above the ground through the neighborhood. I saw it and snickered, thinking someone might think it’s a UFO & would go on to tell others about their UFO encounter. I pulled up my camera to snap a photo of it, and my phone camera just couldn’t handle even this low altitude birthday balloon. Completely clear and blue sky’s, and mid day spring light. It looked like a damned UFO you’d see on r/UFOS. Amazing to me how good our eyes are and how bad our phone cameras are. I was able to instantly make out what the object was when I saw it. Yet the photo my phone captured looks… weird. Like without context, it could easily be interpreted as an alien craft. Yet, it was just a birthday balloon..

I once tried to take a phone picture of a helicopter in broad daylight, good lighting and it was hovering at a distance of about 300 ft as it inspected something. I expected to get the tail number. What I got as a dozen+ attempts to get something that approached "just blury". I'd have done better to get out a pair of binoculars and a pen and paper... You can have the best lenses in the world, but if your post process of the RAW image into a PNG or whatever sucks, then it does not matter how many of those devices you have out there, it's still garbage.

I don’t buy that for a second because there seemed to be plenty of claimed up close encounters in decades past before we had billions of cell phones all over the planet. Whether the New Mexico one or the Walton story or the schoolchildren in Africa we kept hearing about shapes of their heads and seeing them walking around their ships and so on. But now that cameras are everywhere they’re always miles away over the hills. Bull…

Yeah, everyone who complains about blurry/unfocused images "when everyone has a smartphone in their pocket" owes me a dozen high-fidelity shots of their local planes and flying birds from their own phone camera. I took some pictures of a bald eagle today that was probably less than 150 feet away, in broad daylight, with a phone that does have at least SOME optical zoom-and the shots are still fuzzy as hell. Add poor light conditions + surprise and unpreparedness + the photographer's own fear/excitement, and yeah, you're gonna get garbage shots. You can complain when everyone has a professional super telephoto lens in their pocket.

1) This might be Kelleher's best interview ever 2) JMG going down the malfunctioning Von Neumann probe rabbit hole legitimately frightened me. It's too explanatory for some of the weird/woo and inconsistent aspects of the phenomenon. 3) This might be the most important summation of the subject to date, truncated into 1 hour. 4) The deliberate technological seeding thought experiment was a take I had not heard or considered before. 5) The manufactured automaton/biologics was another intelligent observation. John Michael should be on any potential UAP Disclosure Board. His ability to apply game theory and coherent extrapolated imagination to the subject is extremely fresh. I desperately want a part 2.

Thanks, and there will be a part II with a very special guest if I can get him. Probably pretty obvious who that might be, I'll just say get ready for a French accent if I can make it happen. I didn't mention them, but I've come up with two other options that sit within known cosmology and science to float, but am saving them for that specific guest. They're actually scarier than the malfunctioning von Neumann option, yet are plausible and do provide that same explanatory effect for the weird aspects of the phenomenon.

So as the modern interest in UFOlogy with all the developments over the last few years came out, the UFO people were asking me to take a serious, open minded look at it and put some thought into it from my perspective as a hard science fiction writer. You're hearing the fruits of what I've come up with, and also my efforts to help tamp down the taboo on serious discussion of it.

Please make it happen (French accent guest, ha!) Also I have to admit I remember your Von Neumann probe idea from before. On one hand, i'm incredibly happy that self-proclaimed (and rightfully so in most cases) "serious scientists" are taking an interest in this topic, finally. But on the other hand, in the very first 2 minutes of intro to this video, you added over ten "caveats" to every single mention of potential ET technology in near earth orbit. "albeit extremely improbable", "although enormously implausible", "despite seeming like pseudoscience". Not your exact words, but it speaks enormous volumes of just how careful and frankly afraid people STILL are of speaking about this, even in a hypothetical "what if" scenario, you're SO scared of what other people will think about you (in academia), that you're walking on egg shells with razor blades, terrified that a single sentence uttered will even hint at you thinking there's a minute percent of a percent chance that even a since long "dead" technology is even remotely possibly within our solar system. Please... Can we please grow up? Can we please stop with the endless careful caveats and biases established BEFORE you even look into the subject or even talk to the guest. You already decided how imperceptibly tiny the chance is that an ET civilization had ever sent even 1 probe to our solar system. As soon as you mentioned the idea of von neumann probes, you immediately, almost as if to apologize for daring to speculate, mentioned how improbable it is. We have no idea if it is improbable or rare at all! If the universe is teeming with technological civilizations, or has been for the past billion years, it is improbable that a 4 billion year old solar system would NOT have any relics or artifacts drifting around. The exact opposite of what you assumed in the intro. We have NO clue. Even a single Type 1 civilization in our galaxy, could FULLY explore EVERY star system (and colonize a lot of them) in 7 million years. With sub-FTL technology. This was an MIT study, just to see how many years it would take, if it was even feasible within the lifespan of a galaxy. And it is. 7 million years is nothing in the grand scheme even of our own solar system. This is because colonization and exploration is exponential, as your civilization grows, and industrial output grows. This is with ONE civilization existing, EVER, in our galaxy. If TWO ever existed in the past 4 billion years, or Ten? So how can you sit there and start the video with the same old dusty biased nonsense, claiming how "unlikely" it is, when we clearly DONT know the odds at all. You just biased the entire video before you even started. And here's the worst part. I dont think YOU believe it is that improbable. I dont think it's YOU speaking. I think you wrote that intro, to cater to what OTHER people would think of you.. And that's where we have to grow up. And the usual spiel about "we need hard evidence before we seriously think about this topic" is absolute un-scientific nonsense. We had ZERO hard evidence about the existance of Black Holes, or Neutrinos. We only had theories, just as the UFO field is filled with theories (becuase it's the best we can do so far). We DESIGNED and BUILT and PAID FOR enormously expensive experiments to TEST the hypothesis and theory, to try to FIND hard evidence. And nobody complained about that. Everybody applauds that. But as soon as it comes to even hinting at potential ET visitation (currently alive or dead relics), even hinting at something as benign and neutral and passive as artificial derelicts on Phobos or Mars, you all reject it immediately, without even building the theories with us of HOW it could be possible, then paying for and building the experiments to TEST it and LOOK FOR the hard evidence.. It's an incredibly sad double-standard. And you can say all you want that black holes and neutrinos had "soft evidence" in that our equations predicted them. But you know what our equations also predict? The nothing in the universe exists in unique solitude. If one neutron star exists, others must exist. If water exists on earth, it must exist elsewhere (and becomes more common the more we know). If one civilization exists, us, others must exist. So our astronomy, chemistry, biology (all the studies of life on earth itself), predict that OTHER Life must also exist. So why the discrepancy as soon as it comes to "UFO"s? We cant even theorize without being ridiculed, and without adding ten caveats before we even dare to speculate. I'm so tired of this.

I do understand your frustration - when people go on about how incredibly unlikely it might be for alien artefacts etc to exist, I totally agree - we have no way to even estimate that. When it comes to comparing these studies to scientific research though, the situation is very different. We DID have good estimates, from theoretical mathematical models of what should exist (like properties of as-yet undiscovered fundamental particles for example) so we already knew what it would take to detect them, and at least roughly what to look for. So it was definitely worth it to spend the money to confirm or deny their existence. Unfortunately, with extraterrestrial stuff, as you said, we have no clue what to look for, and no theories that even suggest the likelihood of any particular thing we might go look for. The closest we’ve ever come is the Drake equation, and that is at best, a very broad and inaccurate theory - it has so many variables which are themselves guesses, and no way to pin down anything. With a dataset of zero confirmed things, we’re literally unable to even guess about ETs. For all these reasons, I totally understand why people constantly preface what they’re saying with ‘however unlikely it may be’ etc.

As a kid growing up in MT in the early 80’s I heard a playground story from a kid who claimed that his uncle was in the Air Force, stationed at the missile base “up near Great Falls”. Said that one night a UFO came out of the sky and shut off the nukes. I felt bad for the kid for believing his uncle, who was obviously teasing him. Imagine my shock thirty years later when I heard Robert Salas’ account of the exact same event, in detail, with documentation. That and the anger that Robert Jacobs displayed at Phillip Klass. That’s the reaction of man who saw something and knows it. Those two accounts finally sealed it for me. We have unknown unknowns in our operating space. Could be the worst thing ever, could be the best thing ever, could be a little of both. Our governments are lying to us.

When governments lie, it is transparent, for governments are simple creatures driven by the twin propellers of Parkinson's Law and the Peter Principle. What colors the water, so to speak, is when the most cunning aspects of government are confused, maybe desparate, staring into the void of what they cannot know, and they fear it and so try to hide it, hoping to unlock it first before someone else does. They hunger after it as much as they wish to occlude it; and by the tension between, they reveal its unknown-ness by their own internal conflicts over time. This does not reveal the true nature of the thing, but it does tell you that they truly think it is real, and that is not from their own devices.

They won't acknowledge this. It's a common argument, yet they have smartphones themselves that don't record shit very well at all in the distance, in the sky, in the dark, that they can check themselves. Even phones with a physical 10x lens (like Galaxy S23 Ultra) still can't take great pictures in low light or very distant objects, and most people won't have those phones because they're expensive.

Great interview and topic as always. Figured I'd share my own sighting of a tic tac type craft I had during the first days of pandemic lockdown in Washington state. I was outside enjoying a sunny, early spring day. I decided to lay outside and ended up looking at the skies pondering the things people do and I got to thinking about meditation, consciousness etc. Just as I was getting deep into my thoughts I saw a medium sized cylinder or tic tac just soaring thru the few clouds in the sky. It was at a low altitude, I'd guess maybe 2000ft. And it was flying from south to north. Looking up, this craft went from being just to the south of me when I spotted it, then it was quickly directly over me, and within 10 seconds was completely out of sight towards the northern horizon. I tried to get my phone quickly but I still wasn't fast enough. I also was trying to do this without taking my eyes off the thing. I was obviously frustrated I didn't get it on video but I'll never forget it. At the time there was almost no flights in the air. For weeks I remember how quite the skies were with very few flights taking place ie pandemic. But seeing something like that fly thru the sky with zero sound at all was such an odd experience. I hope in my lifetime I'll learn what this truly was, but something deep inside me feels this was something special and not built by us humans. ✌🏼 ♥

John Michael Godier is right when he says that certain knowledge of "Visitors" would be the mother of all national security issues. It's not necessary to go beyond that into conjecture about defective AIs and so forth. Just the existence of superior nonhuman intelligence would do it. Pentagon insiders aren't about to let information like that get out. It makes them look weak.

It’s pretty wild that the “nuts and bolts” aspect and the ET hypothesis is the *easiest* for most people to wrap their head around. The most frustrating thing about this topic is the fact that getting a good pic by laymen and even up to military trained (and equipment) still does not answer the question of if the UAP wants to be seen. To exhibit the technology they have to manipulate nuclear facilities, jam radar, invisible to radar or even the human eye then stealth to not be photographed clearly cannot be out of the scope of thinking. Basically we see them if the choose to be seen. Which brings it back around to the fact we are being manipulated. THAT SUCKS.

Sure, the cameras take HD quality photos, the problem is mainly with the zooming capabilities of cameras. Most people walk around with cellphone cams with lensing best suited for selfies and close pics *not* suitable for long distance shots. A quality camera with the proper lenses for long distance shots and we'll have quality photos. A photographer specializing in raptors and other large birds would have the right equipment for such a job.

This subject has just come so far since 2017. It’s accelerated this year and in particular the last few months. It’s now being discussed as factual by some serious people that have been in some interesting positions with all the opportunities that gives. If anyone didn’t catch the Ross Coulthard interview of Gary Nolan that was just released in the last few days, despite being recoded June 2022. I think it’s a must watch. Sadly Some Republicans in the House are blocking the Schumer amendment for the NDAA. I think the issue needs to be taken far more seriously by the scientific community and it was great to hear some scientists names that are getting involved. "Soul containers" is one thing that keeps coming up - going back at least as far as the orientation material Lazar describes reading at Area 51. But to add a further level of intrigue, the greys are evidently worker-golems, and for all their greater cerebral capacities, whatever knowledge and beliefs they're imprinted with are likely as efficiently built-for-purpose as their physical anatomy; even if they believe what they're telling us, it may be a ruse of their master. Anyone getting about with any degree of efficacy is using warp drives, appearing to us as glowing orbs - convincing an uncontacted civilisation you've had a guiding hand in their development must be one of the oldest tricks in the book, when in reality no continuity of identity or purpose is implied by the form of propulsion alone. If they want us to believe we're Frankenstein's monster, it's because they wanna be 'daddy' in this relationship.. But 'meat-sacks for souls' is what the golems seem to believe, anyhoos..

I’ve been a drone enthusiast and pilot for at least a decade now. Seeing the way that drones fly and even the way they can look at night in the sky it always struck me how much they look like unidentified objects in the sky. You can even make a drone fly in fast right angle changing patterns and if you didn’t know how far away or how big it was I could totally see Simon being fooled into thinking it was breaking the laws of physics. it always seem to me that local drones could be a real culprit for the UFO phenomenon phenomenon. especially when you take into consideration how much faster and more advanced military application drones can be. I do think that if there is something to the UAP phenomenon that an alien civilization will definitely send a drone and not a large craft with actual living life forms inside… thanks for the new thoughtful discussion on the topic.

The only thing I would say is that I think remote vehicle technology has been utilized for many years or decades before being available at affordable prices for consumers, so you are right I don’t mean to explain away the entire UFO phenomenon, history with my observation. There is obviously a long history for UFOs, and I certainly don’t have a good explanation for the entire thing. I was just thinking out loud here. :)

Why, every time John asks a concrete question, does this guy revert to answer in the same pattern ignoring the question completely and going into a lengthy monologue how many people saw this and that, do this and that, and how much credibility those people have 🙄

‘Cos all we have is anecdote at this point. What else could he say? That we have peer-reviewed, international consensus that any of this actually exists? Lol. We don’t have that. If we did, we would all know about it by now.

With respect, if all this turns out to be true, any "security" threat from a life form that is 1000's of years more advanced than the human race is a silly argument to make. They are obviously neutral observers. Shouldn't the bigger question be how has the USG/Contractors been able to lie about the tech that could have helped the human race but chose to try and profit from & weaponize it?

During a cloudless day of summer, I have seen a stationary brighter than sun point in the sky near the sun about 5° from it by my perspective a few years ago. I looked at it for 15 minutes getting out of my car comming from work. By this time, I thought it was a supernova behind the sun or something like that. I am an amateur astronomer so I was amazed by what I was looking at. I was blocking the sun luminosity with my hand to not blind myself by looking so close to it at this bright spherical light for 15 minutes. Then, I was about to reach my pocket with my other hand, continuously looking at the (supernova), to reach my cellphone and to take a picture of this freshly discovered supernova 5° south west of the sun from my perspective. I touched my phone in my pocket and near immediately then I felt like someone was watching me 1000 times the normal feeling of being watched. It was all over me and that feeling came from my right side. I felt the direction of it's movement like when you direct a reading lamp of 40W on your hand kinda feeling. You feel the heat and the direction it is moving over your hand. If I resume, I was looking at what I supposed to be a supernova for 15 minutes, then touched my phone in my pocket to grab it and felt being watched for 1 or 2 seconds as I was watching the small point of light and then the light transformed like a 90° elbow shaped line of white light to vanish in the blue sky. The light line was strangely shaped like a checked mark. A 90° version of this : ✔️. I then was shooked with my cellphone in my hand not knowing what to do with it now that the spherical brighter then sun mini light was gone. I waited and searched all around me for an additional two or three minutes after that and decided after unfruitful searching of it to get inside my appartement. I went under the roof of the building where the door is to unlock it. Took my key and entered it in the locking mechanism when I recived a strong hit of liquid in my right ear hole. I touched this vegtable glycerin textured liquid in my wet right ear hole with my index and looked at my finger to see what got me in this bulls-eye ear drop. I looked over me to realise I was well under a roof. I looked to the sky realising it was cloudless and sunny as hell. Then, I looked back to my finger and I see this thing suck inside my skin in 5 seconds. I touch my ear and realise it is dry like a bone. I freaked out while entering in my home in panic. Whatever it is, it never hurted me in any way but, my right ear is still feeling the presence of the thing in it. I live with it since then and it changed absolutely nothing else to my life than knowing it happened. It is the first time I speak about it publicly.

My name is Robert and I live in Las Vegas Nevada. In 2016 I was living in an area called Lake Las Vegas, and my property set up against a huge Golf Course which was my backyard. at about 1:00 in the morning I was on my balcony looking North where this huge open space where the golf course is and two amber Orange craft were approaching my location which was South, I won't go into my sighting but what I will tell you is, I had no problem with my perception. My sighting was up close and lasted for a few minutes. I'm 69 years old and I've seen everything that the sky has to offer, and I tell you what I saw was not from this world. The technology that I saw we won't have for 100 thousand years. My sighting lasted long enough for me to study what I was looking at because they had stopped and we're just hovering in the air, The two amber Orange Craft we're about 50 yards away and maybe 200 ft in the air. It's the most incredible thing I've ever seen in my life. And they were completely silent. The speed in which they left was like a bullet out of a gun. 11:01
