I decided to fly to London early in case the airline went on strike. It looks like every person in Canada decided to do the same thing. It was a crazy travel day and I've never seen the terminals so busy. But I needed to make sure I get to my cruise.

It's just drama. He lives a few miles from Massena NY airport covered by American airlines. A neighbor of mine(Drolette) was an owner of Piedmont airlines and I am sure it flies into Massena. Drama for the sake of drama.

@@jasonk5700 I an 66 and have never cruised except an overnight gambling cruise from Portland, ME to Nova Scotia and back. I watch him and Tony from La Lido Loca because I enjoy listening to them both. I'm vacatioing at Cocoa Beach in less than a month and can go check out the ships in Port Canaveral. I live 2 hoyrs from Tampa and 2 1/2 frim Canaveral. I'm still not convinced taking a vacation with people and kids behaving badly is the route I want to go. Maybe a small ship someday, but not 5-8000. Yuk! For now, I live vicariously through these guys.

Wow ! So sorry Don! Air travel is so frustrating! Had that happened to me at love field trying to go to Las Vegas!😂 I was supposed to leave at 6 PM to Las Vegas and they kept switching gates on us and and we were delayed until 1:30 AM in the morning lol

Hi Don It is amazing how you indicate to people travelling just go with flow when itineraries change, flights change, changes on the boat whilst sailing.(Restaurants being moved) You were in business class for flights. Imagine being in economy with all the chaos. You really have no complaints. You do not have to fly Air Canada. Why not a partner airline you still get the points. Anyway Air Canada is not a highly rated airline according to many aviation geeks. Just accept the changes and go with the flow. Cheers

I LOVE AC transatlantic business class. I make sure to upgrade for my flight back home because I'm usually tired and frazzled; dropping into that seat gives me a blissful 'welcome back home' feeling!

Whenever possible, within USA I drive...and make it an adventure by taking 3 weeks to get to Wyoming from MI (2500 miles), visiting and sightseeing along the way...quite enjoyable and a great adventure...flying is not my go to first choice. Planes are now expensive cattle cars, rude people, poor food if any...Tahiti was a must fly, with delays and stopover...but once on Air France, it was the best airline I ever flew in my life in every way. To each his own...but your experience has been mine and many others, especially when working and traveling on business...flying is now generally a poor experience even when paying top dollar for first class, etc. Enjoy your destination sir.

I’m surprised how you seemed to mismanage this situation. I booked our flights for September 17 months ago. We knew for weeks that they could strike as early as September 17. So I booked flights on Delta out of Detroit Yes I had to book the high priced fully refundable fares but now we are on our original flight out of London AC and I am receiving a full cash refund from Delta.

Thank you for the good news about Air Canada. We're flying to Montreal next month and I was worried that they would be on strike and that their regional partners would e shut down in solidarity with hem. One less thing I need to worry about ahead of our cruise. :)

We flew out yesterday morning from Toronto to Vancouver (had moved our flight from the 15th to 14th). Yesterday morning it was not too busy for domestic flights, even Domestic Maple Leaf Lounge was not too busy in the morning either. Guess we were lucky and beat the crowds.

Hi Don! I was on the fence about what to do with my Air Canada flights for Sept 24th fir a Xanada New England cruise with my Dad. Saturday evening, I booked a back-up plan flight out of Winnipeg (5hrs drive). Cancelled it when the crisis was averted. Whew! Glad you made it overseas safe!

Glad that you made it safely. Reminds me of the time that I was flying out of Seattle and they want to change the gate location. But they quickly changed it back to the original gate because of so many people in wheel chairs had already arrived at the gate.

The day you traveled I was sitting in Hong Kong. And was lucky enough was going home to yvr on Thursday that I booked a delta back up flight , refundable . So was happy that the strike did not happen , yet, and was able to cancel the back up flight

When you get on Princess you will be welcomed by new pricing. Coffee just went from $3 to $4. Cover charge for Sabatinnis went from $35 to $45. What else went up is yet to be discovered. Of course all with 18.2% gratuities.
