The thing that causes the black spots is the limit on the light bounces like you said in the video. IIRC during the raytracing there's a ray shot from the camera that bounces around on your scene and ends up somewhere after the limit of bounces. If that ray ends up in a lightsource it is rendered as bright and if it doesn't it is rendered as black. So if the ray enters a tight corner or has to bounce through a lot of glassy material it quickly reaches the bounce limit and renders as black. You could up the amount of bounces but this ofcourse increases render times.

I ran into trouble applying the geometry nodes to render a stillframe in eevee or cycles. What I did was go to the Master geometry node group and add a "points to vertices" node. Im not sure what other placements work in the geometry chain but I placed the "points to vertices" node on the output of the loop object but before the "join geometry". ok so you mute that "points to vertices" node with M key and then let the frames play to generate your points up to your liking. when its on the frame you'd like to render hit space/pause (also you can use arrow keys to get more precise) and then unmute the "points to vertices node". you should be good to apply the geometry nodes modifier onto your duplicated master object and then switch your display curve object to take the points input from the second master.
@Neffysux2 жыл бұрын
ugh I thought I found a solution to this problem, but its still not working for me :( very few points show up whenever I apply it
@lrnc11372 жыл бұрын
@@Neffysux yeah its kinda unpredictable but what i did was look in the spreadsheet and let it play with the points to vertices node muted, pause, and then unmute the node. sometimes your points wont be converted into vertices and you'll see in the spreadsheet that the values don't match. i just tried it a few times and eventually when I unmuted the node, the numbers matched.

To fix the black spots you can try to use a modifier that allows you to "push apart" the spheres that collide between them (I come from cinema 4d so I don't know the exact name of the modifier in Blender). Big fan of your art, keep it up G

Make the circle that (you are in) fade from cut to cut visually. What happens to me is I am distracted every time there is a jump in the video. Audio jumping is less of a problem for my brain to deal with. Smoothing audio together would be beneficial as well. I like the cuts! It makes the video faster and more clear. I'm just visually distracted by movement in cuts. If it was made into a very small circle, that might help in the short term. Great work. Thanks for your efforts!

I had a problem to render it out in cycles as images and ended adding in a "points to vertices" node because otherwise it results in 0 geometry when I apply the node tree. Maybe I missed it in your tutorial but did you use it as well? In the video it seems like when you applied the node tree it automatically transformed the points to vertices? Thanks again for the tut!
