Nice pickups! I think that a lot of resellers just assume that anyone who is looking at the same things they do are also resellers, so they look at someone else trying to get a good deal on a game as competition. Either that or they assume that if you aren't a reseller you are stupid and don't know the value of games and might just hand them over for almost nothing. He might have asked you to trade him some of your more expensive games for some of his cheaper ones and think that he could bamboozle you into thinking that'd be a good deal for you.
