Benjamin is a childhood friend with Carolas son so he have known her since he was a child. She’s the same age as his mother 😊

Carola is like a royalty among artist´s in sweden. She won in melodyfestivalen with a song called "Främling/stranger" in 1983 at the tender age of 16 years old.

She was a standing joke for decades though, because she was part of an "extra crazy" christian sect. I don't like her music, or religion. But I always respected her as a person, unlike many other swedes.

@@herrbonk3635 Sadly she had a simular childhood as Michael Jackson. With a parent pushing her to hard for fame. And yeah she ended up in a sekt. Still you need to separate the artist and the private citizen or you will end up not liking anyone. They are still humans. You don´t have to like her music, but her voice is out of this world

@@mikaeljohansson7848 It's her voice I don't enjoy very much. Sounds kind of creepy to me. The actual songs though are sometimes pretty good. At least in later years. I can't stand "mello" and similar, especially not the type of songs that were written for her in the 1980s, brr... But again, she seems like a totally ok person! With humour an all :)

@@mikaeljohansson7848 I can't really stand his singing either. But he too seems to be a nice person as well (unlike Ulf Lundell, Bob Dylan and such, that can't really sing either). Perhaps I should say that I'm a jazz snob, more or less. But I also enjoy old rock-pop groups from the 70s/80s, like Abba, The Police, Blondie, Phil Collins, and the like. Many Swedish folk musicians, singer-songwriters and troubadours too. Overall, we got plenty of tasteful musicians in this country. From jazz to pop! Even some old schlagers sounds nice to my ears (although most don't).

Carola’s first record from 1983, when she was still 16, is by far the best-selling album ever in Sweden, ahead of three Abba records and Lisa Ekdahl’s debut album (incl. “Vem vet”). I think the title track, “Främling”, is Carola’s finest song although I haven’t listened to much of her music since I was a child. “Främling” finished third at the Eurovision Song Contest in Munich in 1983 (three weeks after I was born, so I guess I didn’t watch it) and was a No. 1 hit in Norway and Denmark (only 5th place in Sweden). It has been performed by foreign singers in other languages.

Please react to Daniela Rathana, great swedish singer with a new sound! Her mother was adopted from Thailand actually. I recommend her performance of the song ”kyss” (means kiss) from the swedish ”Idol” where she was a guest artist. The song is about her kissing a girl and then falling for her/becoming addicted to her. There are also videos of her singing with Benjamin Ingrosso.

Funny that you should mention the Bee Gees, who very often used their falsetto voices when singing. Which is exactly what Benjamin Ingrosso does in the Eurovision song you don’t like. Falsetto voices often sound like boys’ voices.

The original song is the best version and the original singer Barry Gibb the most handsome man, sorry! Barry was voted the sexiest man alive (1969),at the time this songwas written and sung by them!
