In italian national championships it's 8km for junior men aswell. By the way. In 2024 Euro cross junior men are going to run 4.5km!!! It's a disgrace what European Athletics is doing to XC.

Hola amigos les escribo desde Los Sauces CHILE y comento que me encantan este tipo de competencias que realizan en Europa y me gustaría saber como clasifican estos chicos para esta competencia por ejemplo y saber cuántos chicos pueden competir por cada país y además que tipo de zapatillas utilizan, de trail, con clavos o no sé, si alguien pudiera aclararme estas dudas se los agradecería, saludos y muchas gracias.

I will answer in English. The countries each select up to 6 male and female athletes for each age category. They can choose themselves by which criteria they send. A lot of countries hold trials, but there are some countries who don't do them or select athletes based on other criteria.

Athletes generally use 15mm spikes in these conditions.

@@romainfardel6923 I am Belgian and I was there and know for a fact the Belgians used 20mm spikes. I know a lot of other countries were not well prepared and were looking for longer spikes last minute.
