I woke up this morning singing this song...a favorite hymn from my church as a youth. I am 56 y/o...and had not heard this song in years...looked for it and found this. As I wipe away the tears, thank you Jesus...I needed this as I just lost my best friend, my dog Rocko. Thank you for reminding me that I have a friend in Jesus.

World is getting better and better. Christ is on the throne and we are preaching the word. As more of the people of different countries hear of Christ the more the world goes after Him. It only seems worse, as we are in a small portion of life. Look at the larger picture of the past 25, then 50, then 100, 500, 1000 years of church history (not your countries history, but His history). His church is winning.

I was a Volunteer in the Prison for about 10 yrs on the alpha course for prisoners , this was their favourite song this worship song really spoke to them , many became Christians and their lives changed . What a friend we have In Jesus a song to sing every day and more so in times of trouble to bring peace to your heart . We wrestle not with flesh and blood but with principalities of the dark world we do not see , know who is the enemy, it’s not your neighbour or best friend or your husband , he is working through us all to kill to separate to deceive to steal, take it to the Lord In prayer , that’s our WMD . He fights our fights when we let him. Oh what a friend we have I Jesus . Thank you Holy Spirit for revealing Jesus to us .

My uncle died, and he loved praising God, and dancing. I started crying when i heard this song because it reminds me of him. It reminds me that when we feel afraid or alone, we are not alone. As a person who struggles with depression and anxiety, this is such a beautiful reminder that i'm never alone, and that I have a friend by my side that will never leave me.
