@@Earth_Number_12 Progress has multiple SD70 programs. The Metra units should never be seen as far east as Roanoke. They are completed in Mayfield, KY and are shipped north, one at a time (at this point), to Chicago.

Rochell, Ill gets off to a great start @ 9:01 with a dropped signal. A rare aspect change by a searchlight signal @ Santa Fe Jct. was worth a second look @ 4:21...very nice. Deshler always has nice signal action and this was no exception @10:14. WOW! Your camera quality is apparent when taking a shot at the moon. The craters were visible at the terminating line. Very nice grab bag today...thank you.

I used to work the Chapel Hill occasionally as a steward. Our chef was an older gentleman who had been a New York Central cook for many years. Robby was always a hoot to work with. The owner Dewitt Chapple was a nice guy to work for.

Super reel! This reel reminds me of a wonderful old holiday cookie the old fashioned molasses ginger cookie.....with CSX moving through LA Grange so gingerly. Then the dainty deer so polite consciences and courteous moving slowly precisely...you could bake a batch of lacy oatmeal crispy cookies. In Canada a bright showing of sprinkled candied colors bouncing off the glimmering white snow....a real live holiday train. A icing sprinkled topped sugar cookie...for sure. Things are moving now! Glad to see the Boeing fusalages more to come with the sell of 200 to United Airlines. Fun to see NS gingerly moving the wrapped EDM engines...heading to the United Arab Emirates! I hope they too one day have rail cameras. The UAE have migratory Dunggongs cousins to the Manatees... Nice meteors, have they been identified as such or space debris. That one was huge plus they both went deep into our atmosphere. A trice thrice team of switchers in Illinois one a unknown red smoker. In Washington state was that a International Harvester a Ford Bronco or both ? Waves of the days go to K&O and UP engineers. Fun historic cars everywhere with amtrak too. CSX has its Envy Class excursion train out too. Are they leasing some out for holiday parties? A few more days and the days will be getting longer now. They the excursion trains should do chocolate parties in February. Nice switcher in PA was that box car a newspaper paper car from northern Canada? The ever Fun construction glowing train out with its amphibious truck trailing behind a QA truck just guessing safety for sure. A unknown shinny royal blue engine. A Rio Grande engine vintage?... I thought I saw a BNSF switcher in Washington state with one of the power pulls too. Canadian pacific is donning a crest. Wow what a moon it was so clear that I almost took a bite out of it! Teasing... Then there was that red caboose plus cars unknown to me plus the caboose was a spacer car hazardous train maybe? Thanks

To be honest, the crew could quite plainly see that they were going to get past the vehicle in this instance, without hitting it. Unnecessary use of horn is unnecessary and annoying. They made the right call to not excessively use their horn.

That's the way Boeing transports the fuselage shells from Wichita KS to final assembly in Seattle. Have been and will be doing it for years. Check KZbin for video of " Train derailment spills Boeing 737 fuselage into river". Lots of $$$$ lost.

You have to bear in mind the historical context. When this line was built just after the War Between the States the railroads, other than walking, horseback and boat, were the only other (and primary) mode of transport. Communities when they had the opportunity to get a railroad actually usually preferred to have a line centrally located for ease of use and easy accessibility. In the case of LA Grange here the area topography and town layout makes the relocation of line difficult and rather costly. Besides the notoriety has been a boon to local business. The fact that the gaffs by drivers here are so public emphasizes the situation but elsewhere not so public you'll probably have almost as many questionable drivers coming to greif without a railroad handy to utilize.

A hundred years ago, tracks in LaGrange were ok, but the lack of light control makes this totally unreal. Our son lives in a town with train tracks down the High Street, however light controls the traffic flow and crossing gate. The streets are wide enough for ample parking. Several years ago they reworked the rails, we thought they were going to move the tracks, but no creative thinking.

That is the CSX OCS, Office Car Special, a fleet of office, observation, dining, sleeper, etc cars used for executive inspection tours, customer promotions, public relation events (such as the recent Santa/Christmas train in KY, TN, and VA), employee specials, etc.
