WHAT A LIFE! From Suits to Studio: Mark Bloch Makes a Leap

Ever dream of quitting your day job and pursuing your passion? Join us for an inspiring talk with Mark Bloch, who traded in the corporate world for a full-time career as an artist! Bloch is a creative whirlwind. He writes, performs, and uses all sorts of media to create his art. He’s even been sending out artistic postcards and packages since the 1980s, as part of the movement called “mail art.”

Bloch has written for some of amazing art magazines, including Brooklyn Rail and White Hot Magazine. In the corporate world, Bloch worked for the government of Israel, as a graphic designer for ABCNews.com, The New York Times, Rolling Stone and elsewhere. Bloch’s work has appeared at the group exhibition, Verba volant, Scripta mament (book art by three artists) from April 2-27, 2024 at Paris Koh Fine Arts in Fort Lee, N.J., a gallery that curates groundbreaking exhibitions that garner acclaim from renowned critics and publications. A native of Ohio living in Manhattan since 1982, his archive of Mail/Network/Communication Art is part of the Downtown Collection at the Fales Library of New York University, and his work (pictured) appears in the Library of the Museum of Modern Art.
