The days of the week are actually the kanji for the planets, same as in many languages: - 月曜日 where 月 is the Moon - 火曜日 where 火星 is Mars - 水曜日 where 水星 is Mercury - 木曜日 where 木星 is Jupiter - 金曜日 where 金星 is Venus - 土曜日 where 土星 is Saturn - 日曜日 where 日 is the Sun It's wild to me that seemingly completely disconnected and distant cultures have the same system for the names of the days of the week. This dates from ancient China btw.

omg I think about what you just said at 26:45 all the time. Like, especially now I think we are always trying so hard to optimize our trips and always googling "Top 5 things to do" or looking at only 4.7+ star google reviews before choosing a place to eat and like spending all this energy planning every detail of our trip.. whereas before I think, yeah there was some general planning of what you would do but so much of traveling would be just showing up and figuring out. Because EVERYONE is trying to eat at the top rated place and do the top 5 best things, these places have all beome tourist traps/ the food is always made in a rush, everything that is popular is slightly westernized to please tourists.. traveling has lost its sense of like "exoticism" in a way..
