Send their pictures to every nail salon across the country with "warning they will sue you". Sounds like the daughter did not know the difference between gel polish or acrylic nails. And how did a tiny tiny cuticle cut stop her from an audition for modeling?? What a joke. I bet they do this on the regular, complain about the smallest thing and screw others out of payment. If the table was turned and they were getting sued for that amount over that little bitty accident i bet they might would feel differently. Going to get your nails done or a pedicure you kinda know that there might be or might not get a tiny cut from the cuticle cutters. Its happened to me a few times. 😲I guess they didn't have a right to be upset after the daughter was abused at the nail by an irritated nail tech who got the order wrong. How come people feel that people who look a certain way are ok to be rag dolled and spoken to any kind of way. Their life matters. If a nail tech grabbed your hand and rough housed your nail job slicing through several fingers and burning over nail bed with excessive filing would you really agree that they should merely refund you. No way and I'd be hurt as the mother that someone treated my daughter that way. Do you know how emotionally harmful being treated that way is and in front of other customers who are likely getting pedicures etc nearby? How mush she have felt being rag dolled while watching others get pampered...that makes a person feel low. She should have got the 10k so that a msg was sent to nail salon that theu cant abuse people that way.

@Alexis Sarkasia I'm going to take it as she's speaking in general. As you can see I'm black and I've been treated the exact same way, if not worse and have watched other non women of color get pampered and catered to. Even to this day, I watch my nail tech, of 5yrs, out of habit when they use the drill bits because I too have had my nails dug into as well as cuticles overly cut/bleeding/raw by some that dgaf. Its been 12yrs and I still have a nail fungus on my big toe nails from a salon back from 08/09 that nothing cleared it up. Certain people, not all, treat us black women differently when we walk into another cultural environment like our money doesn't spend the same and that is definitely disheartening.

I'm a nail tech. There is no way you're getting gel EXTENSIONS for $22. Thats a basic mani or a mani w gel polish if they are running a promotion. These ppl expected somthing for nothing & were upset when they didn't get it. We try to avoid cuts and safety & sanitation are one of the big things we are trained on. If you are cut its not good but there are procedures that are followed (which it sounds like they did), and if your tools are clean & sterile everything should be ok. If you're not happy with the work you can ask for a refund & we will stop right there. The only time that this situation would warrant this kind if lawsuit is if the cut got infected & the person needed medical care to get it to heal, and there were real actual damages. That kind of incident is very rare. It is encouraged for salons have liability insurance though, so if this kind of thing happens it doesn't break you & you don't end up in this kind of situation, having to go to court. My guess is they tried to scam the insurance first & when that didn't work, they came to ppls court. They were probably hoping the salon would pay up to avoid being seen in a negative way on tv.

That mother is a total hustler! Being rude to the judge doesn't help ur case when ur standing beside ur daughter coaching her. The mother is a nasty sarcastic piece of work! The daughter would of been happy with a full refund! That mother just saw dollar signs in her eyes. Seriously! $9,932 for a bad nail service? That would of been acceptable if the daughter contracted a serious bacterial infection that caused her to be so sick she had to be hospitalized for it, OR required surgery to remove the top of the nail or dead skin surrounding the cuts that caused a nasty infection etc. Sadly this has happened in the past to other people where they walked away with 10's of thousands of dollars due to medical expenses. However, this is NOT the case! Like the daughter mentioned that they had just moved from Hawaii. I'm thinking that must of been a very costly move for them? I guess that specific $9,932 was their moving costs lol. Plus, why wait two days to take photos of ur cuts? If that were me I would of been snapping the photos of them when they were bleeding as it happened like she has claimed, and definitely refused to pay, and also asked them to reimburse her for any over the counter ointments/pain relief she needed as long as she provided them with a receipt as proof :/ That mother is just sad for making her daughter go through this on national TV. The only difference is, the Plaintiff and her mother wouldn't have made a complete ass of themselves for the world to see as they did on The People's Court. And no. There's no way she can pull in nearly 10K on modeling jobs. If she were to, we'd be talking about at least a 100 modeling jobs, which I highly doubt she had that many offers. They just wanted a hefty windfall. The mother proved it by badmouthing the Judge and her daughter uttering the words "this is bullshit" after the final ruling.
