If your solo, it's a great break from the world. You almost always can do what you want, when you want, except for the slightly earlier hours. Las Vegas used to be much better but since Covid alot of the late night places are still closed.

I just did a solo cruise for the first time half a month ago. I'm going to do a few things differently next time but I did enjoy it and would do it again. I was on the Marella Explorer 2 during sea days I found there was more I wanted to do in the evening than during the day but I made it work, I'd use the afternoon for naps or chilling out, they had some really good movie channels with recent releases at no extra cost, it wasn't on demand but I didn't care.

Sea days are the best part of cruising, they don't have all that chaotic boarding and off boardig and the atrium always has many events such as dance lessons and game shows. Also, sitting outside on deck is a lot cooler with the breeze from the ship moving

I took a cruise to Alaska for the first time in my life a few years ago. I wasnt even that interested in cruising but I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed. I thought it would just be eating, drinking and sitting by the pool. What I didn't realise was how many activities, lectures, shows, talks, classes, dances, lessons happen all through the day. It is impossible to get bored.

I've only been on one cruise and I honestly preferred the sea days. There's plenty to do on board and I love the water views, walking, entertainment etc...The ports mostly were too touristy for me - didn't care much for them. Usually wasn't worth the hassle of disembarking and reembarking, so I highly enjoyed this video featuring days at sea!

The best part of a ship is being out in the water. Doing floats and hitting ports was fun, but man I would spend hours down below looking out of the hangar, or down in the well deck with the aft open or on a catwalk, just watching the ocean as we steamed along. Seeing commercial ships or another part of the group would pop up, dolphins, trash, whales or just the wake of the ship. I know there's stuff to do on a cruise ship, but just enjoy the ocean and the humility it brings when you realize that even the vessel you're on is a speck on a blue canvas.

Boring on sea days? Not for me. That’s the ultimate chill day. Up to see the sunrise. Get to the gym. Pack my book and find a quiet breezy spot on deck. Go get a coffee anytime. People watch. Eat some amazing food. Catch an evening show. Agree with walking and stairs. On our last cruise on Harmony of the Seas I averaged 4 miles walking, and 30-ish flights of stairs per day.

Hi, Tamaika! So I have a chase sapphire reserve credit card and use the "chase trifecta" credit point system. So I use points for transportation costs and hotels. The cost of the cruise usually gives me most of the points I need for transportation.

Totally agree, the wake view from the fantail is one of the best, only surpassed by being up on deck on a moonless night, darken ship. The stars out in the middle of the ocean then are insane!

Great show! I just got off an 8 night cruise on celebrity solstice yesterday. The boat was only half full. The best part of cruising is you can do as much or as little as you want to do. The food was really good as well as the entertainment. I’m headed to Thailand for a month in January. Can’t wait!

Cruising Solo? I have thinking about traveling extensively via Cruises. But I always get stuck with the "Single" penalty. Most of the sites that I visit either don't offer "single" as a filter option or they make it very difficult to navigate. Any suggestions? I took my first cruise to Alaska in April, it was the best experience, so blown away of entertainment. The thing is you can just go to one place to the next entertainment. Already setting up for next trip to Europe on NCL. Truly enjoy every moment of it.

We did an Alaska cruise on Princess in 2018 and a Mediterranean and transatlantic cruise on Holland America just before the pandemic in 2019. Loved them both. I have a couple questions. How are you booking the cruises - are you using a travel agent, booking direct with cruise line, or another method? Have you considered one of the World cruises? Nice job on the video, but question for you. I want to go solo, but being the introvert I am, I look for solo get-togethers. I noticevthere was one listed for 8:00 p.m. to 8:15 pm. I'm not sure if you attend it or not, but rarely what can come up a solo get together for 15 minutes? I'm glad they actually have one but i'm hoping there's more involvement. TIA

So usually the solo get together are around 6pm. I usually try to attend. the involvement varies from ship to ship, cruise to cruise to be honest. But usually they are good. I am an extreme introvert by the way and haven’t had any issues cruising.

OMG, i love solo cruising & sea days. Solo cruising is my down time from a hectic life. I read, lounge by the pools, go to the art auctions & other things I enjoy aboard a ship. I have great meals & sometimes I'll eat in my cabin while enjoying a good movie. For me, solo cruising & sea days are awesome.

I just got off Holland America Eurodam 10 days Panama Canal Historical Locks. The average age is 70, and the older years. In October, I am on Norwegian Escape via Manhatten Port to Bermuda. November Transatlantic Princess Enchanted cruise from Roma to Florida. I want to sail around the World Cruise in 180 days, but cruising in segments is cheaper.

That's when I'd explore the ship - early mornings! And walk, walk, walk, yes indeed. And the pool - laps, laps, laps! Hard to believe lots of folks don't do that early am, but glad! Is the food you showed available 24/7. I didn't see lobster. Or snow crab. Sometimes I get really cold, and nothing but hot tea will do. Well, maybe lobster. Or snow crab. Oooo...I used to work at Estee Lauder, in the Clinique division. Awww, what a nice ceremony; so nice of him to invite you! I searched and searched the event list - no lobster. Or snow crab. Omg he's on a cruise eating a chili dog when he could be having lobster! Or snow crab! I forgive you Kevin. You did do a lot of walking. Maybe you do pool laps. And you did show us the aft and the rainbow. So it's all good. So very good to see you!

The food isn't available 24/7 but there is food that is available 24/7. There is lots of lobster. I didn't show the main dining room or the specialty dining.

@@30AndAWakeUp Well, if I ever go on a cruise, that's where I can be found. Walking, pool lapping, and lobster/crabbing. Shower and repeat. Oh, and star gazing. I'll bet it's amazing on the ocean. Meanwhile, living vicariously through you!

I solo cruised all through my late 20s and early 30s. The best part is that the ship groups you with other solo cruisers , so you end up meeting so many people.

Just found your channel Kevin, Im debating on doing the upcoming 3 year cruise. I have never done a cruise before so it will be an insane 1st time trip if I decide to go. Im watching your channel trying to get an idea of how it will possibly go. The constant port stops and daily ship activities have me thinking probably wont get bored as that is my biggest concern doing a 3 year cruise. FYI; Im retired USMC Semper Fi

Yeah, Im not getting bored. I went on a 16-day Panama Canal trip for my first cruise to see if I would enjoy the day to day. Maybe try that a little longer cruise to see how you like it. Oh and thanks for your service.

Loved this video! I usually watch another cruise channel, but I like that you featured Princess, as not many do. I love sea days! In fact, I plan my next cruise from Los Angeles to Hawaii, which is almost all sea days, about 10.

How do you handle administration stuff being full time travel? 1/ mail ? 2/ banking (don't you need USA address? 3/ medical 4/ when you are between cruise, you need USA hotel no! Doesn't that drive total cost up? 5/ flights between cruises don't add up? Happy to see a video about these if too much to answer here of course

1/ almost every thing is electronic now but i use my mom's address. 2/100% electronic, use mom's address 3/i have medical insurance just like anyone else 4/5/ most of the time I do not have days in between, but when I do i get a hotel but I use a travel credit card and use points to pay for hotels and flights

Thanks for your video. My first cruise (21 days) was as a solo traveller to and similar to your shown activities. Routine was important and pushing myself to mix.

Dear solo cruiser. A long time ago (I am 67) I was thinking to do something similar like that. Hmmm. When I do see the morning buffet..... When I do see so many bars....Hmmm. I would put on so much weight. For sure. How are you going to manage this ? During 1 year ? You maybe are not paying the same price like others. Because in the fare you normally pay they calculated the spent on food per person. Very happy to get any feedback on that from experienced travelers. Then maybe... I will try it out before I have to leave this planet. Thanks a lot.

I am super excited over this series. I found your channel via the van life series. I have two multi-state Prius car camping road trips completed. And my third is planned for 2023. But I also love cruising. While I enjoy the "Prius life" way of traveling, I miss cruising. I can hardly wait to watch your journey. Thank you!! 😀

The Carnival corporation has a shareholder benefit of onboard credit if you own 100 shares of their stock. If you haven't already done so, check it out. At their current stock price, it's not too much of a risk. I believe you can use it on any of their Cruise lines. I've used on Holland America and found the process very easy even when I didn't meet their timeline requirements.
