"That's gotta hurt the throat." Not if done properly. There are techniques for getting all kinds of grit, growl, and distortion in the voice. See Pisces by Jinjer for an example, as well as some impressive musicianship.

❤ I'm so glad you checked them out! Only 4 members but they are each just so good at what they do. It's incredibly musically satisfying. They've got a ton of great music - 46 and 2, Eulogy, H, Jambi,Right in Two, the Grudge. But if you're a drum fan you've got to watch the live drum cam of Pneuma. It's a long song but Tool's drummer Danny Carey is one of the best in the world. It'll blow your mind. Also, i recommend pulling up lyrics, Tool go deep.

Welcome to the world of Tool. Aside from their awesome instrumentation and complex lyrical music the one thing that doesn’t get mentioned too much is the sound engineering that goes into their music. I have to really suggest you wear a good pair of headphones to not only hear every nuance, but to listen to the panning of the sounds they put into the songs. Some will really impress you how some sounds travel side to side or go all around your head. Their music is best to listen with lyrics and avoid the videos because a lot of them are very distracting and don’t offer much with what the song is about. Spiral out. If you keep doing Tool then I’ll keep coming back to your channel.

There are two types of people-tool fans and people who haven’t heard tool yet. Every song is amazing. I envy the person that just starts figuring out tool. You have so many songs in front of you. Advice on the videos-only watch lyric video without visuals. All official and fan made videos are distracting.

The drummer's name is Dany Carey, a beast. Recommending the "Tool Pneuma live Dany Carey Drumcam" video. You can see him going completely feral and the song is awesome too. Have von with Tool, it's a great band.
